06.01.2022 The Department of Agriculture and Food WA (DAFWA) has approached the CSSWA to encourage members to use its MyPestGuide app. The app allows users to report pest...s such as insects, weeds, diseases and animals to DAFWA. Experts from DAFWA will identify your pest, reply back to your device and map it online. The app is part of the Boosting Biosecurity Defences project and allows DAFWA to map and monitor the location of a variety of pests impacting both agricultural and horticultural pursuits. Currently, DAFWA is looking to find the extent of cactus scale, Diaspis echinocacti, in WA. The primary purpose being to facilitate the evaluation of importing commercial cacti fruit into WA from overseas.
