17.01.2022 Clearance to ignition sources: over the years many people have appliances & equipment added to their homes... eg... -pool (with pool filter) -air conditioners (with external condenser unit) -bbqs, & lots if other stuff that can all be a source of ignition. it varies between states & countries but whether you are a property owner or equipment installer you must try to remember you need to maintain good clearances to particular equipment between your gas cylinders & any electrical device or other ignition sources. it is possible that your gas cylinders were positioned years before other nearby equipment was installed on your property. installers of other equipment sometimes neglect these requirements you are wise to ask the installer about this kind of thing when getting work done on your property. if you want advice or wish a gas fitter to carry out a quick check of how your property stands please feel free to contact us. safety is the important factor always.

17.01.2022 been using some composite gas tube / pex products recently & very happy. http://tradelink.com.au/trade/products just remember to protect from direct sunlight uv. manufacturer guides & AS5601 tells more about this. ... theres always times to use traditional copper / silver solder but understanding the benefits of each method or product can be very helpful to the licensed installer.

12.01.2022 here is a scenario. person buys a house... and sees that: previous owner left no gas cylinders. ... question to their friends- can i grab some small gas cylinders & connect to the house so i can cook tacos for dinner.. maybe sit them on a box or step ladder? ...the reply varies... but correct answer= NO. ALWAYS get a gas fitter to check it first. thats the short story, Thats actually the only safe story. ...best leave those Tacos until the home is checked & made good. sounds simple but when those Tacos are calling you, please remain strong. Even if you have to upset your friends & tell them to order pizza until its sorted!

07.01.2022 Gas Safety. Australia has a very good reputation, & in particular - Qld is one of the safest states when it comes to gas installations. Your local gas fitter is the vital link between gas supply & consumer...... Always feel free to ask questions.

07.01.2022 is your gas usage quite low at your dwelling? do you wonder about costs to rent 45kg LPG cylinders vs running smaller 9kg cylinders. let us know what you are running & see if we can shed light on the subject...

07.01.2022 this week we worked on one lovely old house that had seen a beautiful extension 10 years ago. (comprised of a brand new master bedroom & ensuite built onto one end of the house. the new ensuite was given a nice new dedicated (large) electric heat pump hot water system because likely it was too hard to connect to existing hot water piping way up that end of the house... But the result was costly electric bills running two big hw units on this nice home). this week we replac...ed the huge electric storage hw system & ran new gas pipe to a new little continuous flow Bosch pro 12L outdoor gas unit. (The ensuite only uses a small amount of hot water). running costs are now much lower. it did cost the customer a full day of work for the fitout & new gas pipework. however it will pay for itself in around one year, two at the most. energy savings. reduced power. well worth it. only pay for what heated water you use.

07.01.2022 Lpg gas is heavier than air so if you get a leak the gas will travel down to lower zones. This is usually a concern in your boat moreso than your land based dwelling. Either way if you notice a leak just isolate gas supply & ventilate the area. No electrical or other ignition sources, & call a gasfitter to make it good again.

06.01.2022 new install of 4pack x 45kg lpg cylinders. new pipework from one end of house to the other. remove old twin 9kg gas cylinders. fit new gas cooker. replace old electric hw system with 6 star Bosch 16L professional. ... replace another old electric hw system with 6 star Bosch 12L professional. as usual my favourite gas supplier was very helpful & even discounted the cylinder rental.
