18.01.2022 Morning all, Steve here. Well after myself and Seng Mah both did separate tours in NZ in 2014, Seng has been promising to run a photography tour to New Zealand since mid 2014 but has been a little pre-occupied with all his other tours and projects. However, Seng and I have been quietly working on the tour itinerary and we are very excited to announce the 2016 New Zealand South Island Photography Tour. Come and join Seng and myself on a fantastic and very epic 9-Day photograph...y tour of some of the most awe-inspiring locations that the South Island has to offer: Queenstown, Te Anau, Milford Sound, Kinloch, Glenorchy and Lake Wanaka. 7-15 April next year. It's limited to only 6 photographers because this is a tour where you will be fully supported in your photography by the both of us -- we want to make sure you're fully satisfied by your photographic adventure in NZ! 14.01.2022 Hi Guys, Steve H here. I just love light painting under a full moon, balancing the ambient light and the power of the lights I'm using to create a sureal image that often asked more questions then they answer. Then sometimes, they ask no questions at all. This was taken at Pergandes Sheep yards near Bencubbin. This is an incredible historical sight. The pens and runs were all made of sheets of granite, taken from the granite outcrops in the area. Many are still standing after just short of a century. I had permission to be there through a local photographer whom is a friend of the current owners. Felt very privileged.

10.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Stephen here. Well, the winners of the 2016 CWAS David Malin Awards were announced last Saturday during the CWAS AstroFest Conference Dinner. NIGHTSCAPES Winner: Stormy Stars - Stephen Humpleby. ANIMATIONS: AESTHETIC Honourable Mention: (2nd) Stars of the Southern Skies - Stephen Humpleby. THEME = "LIGHT POLLUTION: THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE BAD" Photo Editor's Pick: Coronet Peak Light Pollution plus Air Glow Stephen Humpleby.

02.01.2022 On our way to Beverly for tonight's workshop.

02.01.2022 Pergandes Sheep Yards is a facinating historical site where the sheep runs and yards were made of Granite plates taken from the local granite out crops. I was fortunate to be allowed to visit after dark to shoot a timelapse. I thought while there, under the full moon, I'd get the other camera out and do a bit of light painting. Two goes at spinning this and kept stepping in holes or getting the light stuck in the grasses. Oh well, wasn't to bad ;-) Steve H

01.01.2022 A few (of many keepers) from a Canon Collective meet at Freo tonight :-) Steve H
