25.01.2022 Pala Fishing Challenge is on with 1 week left to enter Rules: #palalivin #palafishingchallenge @palafamala ... Rules for Challenge 4 DIVISIONS -Motorless craft(OC1, Kayak) -Spearfishing -Shoreline Casting -Trifecta Champ(catch in all 3 Divisions) OPEN WINDOW Now till midnight of April 30th TARGET TO WIN Biggest isnt necessarily best. The trophy fish in this challenge will be the one that you would want most at your dinner table. Would you rather eat a 100lb Ulua or a 5lb Kumu or maybe a 2lb Kumu? We are going to let the people judge. Post your fish and keep posting any new fish throughout the whole competition. Make sure that you fish to eat or to give to a friend to eat. At the closing date we will pick what we believe to be the top 3 or so fish from each division and then post them to let the people choose the winner. RULES TO QUALIFY Take a photo of your fish as soon as you can along with your set up(OC1, kayak, dive gear, casting setup, etc). The photo will tell us what division to put you in. Once you get home and rinse your gear snap another photo of the fish length. Put the fish on a tape measure with tape and fish lips touching wall or anything that is 90 degrees to butt against. The measurement needed is from the lips(closed mouth) to the fork of tail. Once you have both photos, post them with the #palalivin hashtag. REMEMBER, THIS IS FOR FUN Hawaiian style living is what Palafamala is all about. Dont take more than you need. Be smart, be safe, and know your limits. All fishing situations can be extremely dangerous even when you are experienced and especially if you are inexperienced. Please social distance yourself and take responsibility for your actions. HAWAII AND INTERNATIONAL RULES The rules are the same but Hawaii will be competing within Hawaii and the International Division will be competing with the rest of the world. Finding the winners for the International Challenge will be interesting. There are so many different fish out there with each country having their favorite but we will leave it up to the people to vote and see how it goes. Thanks to all our South West - and a few Rocko and Mandurah OC crew that made our day a huge success, some very very smiling faces coming off the water.... 21.01.2022 The Western Australian Kahele crew from Ozone Australia finished off their 2019/20 Summer downwind season with the Drummers Handicap Race yesterday. With 70+ paddlers hitting the water & handicaps starting from scratch to 38mins, light winds provided a great finish to an epic summer of racing. The Drummers Handicap is represented by skis, SUPs and OC1 with the third consecutive year being taken out by a novice SUPer!...
