03.02.2022 Astero runs tomorrow Our last start Canberra winner Astero will go around at Goulburn tomorrow in a 1400 metre class one (race 4 12.10pm WST). He goes up 100 metres in distance from his last start which trainer Matthew Smith believes he will enjoy. The track is a heavy 9 (last start was heavy 8). Matthew thinks he is going to be very competitive.

01.02.2022 Oceanex Wow, we are still coming down from the high of Oceanex running in the Melbourne Cup. She has finished 11th beaten 5.5 lengths. She had to spend some fuel down the straight the first time to put herself in the race. It was a good ride by Dean Yendall to find a position with cover. She lost a shoe in running and pulled up with slight heat stress. She did her best. ... Now we know you cannot look at it this way, but out of the run comes another what if story. What if the Europeans could not come due to Covid 19. If so, she runs 6th beaten 3.2 lengths. The first six would have looked like this 1st The Chosen One 2nd Persan 3rd Verry Elleegant 4th Russian Camelot 5th Finche 6th Oceanex Jockey’s comments She went super. I rode her to run the top 12. I got her into a lovely position, had cover, it was always going to be tricky from the barrier 17. I knew the speed was drawn outside of me, but I still had the task of getting across and finding the right spot, which she did. She switched off lovely and I rode her to get the journey and to help the owners get some prizemoney. Racenet’s comments Clinton Payne says (paraphased): Super run. Did a bit of work to offset a three-wide spot early and stuck to the task and was brave in the straight after firing all her bullets.

25.01.2022 Rider In the Snow to debut tomorrow Our European stayer Rider In The Snow will make his Australian debut tomorrow at Rosehill. He will run first-up over 1900 metres. Trainer Kris Lees believes it is a good starting point for him. We are not expecting too much as his form in Europe is over further hopefully, he will be our 2021 Melbourne Cup runner!

24.01.2022 Coventry To Rio former OZ Racing mare I was recently doing some research on Mungrup Studs very promising stallion Im All The Talk and noticed his first stakes winner, Watch Me Dance, is out of the Oratorio mare Coventry To Rio who we purchased from Mungrup Stud as a yearling and raced. That is so cool! At the end of her racing career, we did a deal with our good friends Mungrup Stud to give her a chance in the breeding barn. ... We are so pleased for her connections. What a start to her racing career. Trained by leading trainer Steve Wolfe, she won first up at Bunbury, won a Saturday 2YO race before stepping up further winning the Group 3 Sire Produce Stakes, running second in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate beaten 0.1 of length, running second in the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes and third in the Listed 2YO Magic Millions. Now that is some first campaign. Interesting to note, Steve bought the full brother to Watch Me Dance at the 2020 Perth Magic Millions Sales for $60,000, which now turns out to be a real bargain. We look forward to watching her career. Mungrup Stud

24.01.2022 OZ Racing Update Avastaar Retired We have retired our 3Y0 Dream Ahead gelding after two starts. He just doesnt have what it takes. It is disappointing for the partners in the horse, but as our partners know, we do not want people paying up for a horse that in all probability will not give them much enjoyment and cost money. ...Continue reading

24.01.2022 An exciting day for OZ Racing. We are lucky enough to be in the ownership of Oceanex, who will commence her Melbourne Cup campaign when she starts in a 1400 metre handicap at Caulfield. We are also in the ownership of the Group 1 placed 3YO Glenfiddich who will be lining up in the Group 1 Menzies Stakes against the older horses. Trainer Peter Moody is throwing him into the deep end here - a 3YO hasnt run in this race for 33 years and 45 years since a 3YO won the race. You have to be in it to win it!

24.01.2022 Why we do what we do! For our new followers we hold a commercial syndicators licence, but we do not make any money out of syndicating horses we do it to race horses with people who love racing for the pure excitement of being involved in this wonderful sport. If we syndicate 100% of a horse, we charge 5% of the purchase price to cover the costs of having a commercial licence and carrying the cost of purchasing the yearling. ... We also offer micro syndicates to OZ Racing partners where we buy a position in a horse offered by trainers around the World these micro syndicates have been very successful. OZ Racing is not in this to make money out of our syndicate partners. When we select a horse, we always call on the assistance of industry professionals (trainers, bloodstock agents and veterinarians). Good luck to you all happy punting and if you are a racehorse owner. We wish you success!

22.01.2022 The Team Perth All That Sizzle|Neville Parnham shaping up nicely galloped well on Tuesday and has done some barrier work as well Neville looking at a trial over 400 metres Monday week. ... All Square|Simon Miller had a slight hiccup last week which meant Simon has had to back off her hopefully back on track to move to gallops in the next week or so. Avastaar|Neville Parker very disappointing that we had to scratch him on race day Wednesday as he lost his temper and wouldnt load on the float we will now try again Sunday week at Northam. Hit Tune |Fred Kersley back in the paddock a talented galloper on his way back from injury. Nicconis Boy|Neville Parnham galloped well on Tuesday but on Wednesday has come down with a cold which means we will have back off for a week prior to the cold he was going really well. Locklear |Neville Parnham going well galloped strongly on Tuesday has done some barrier practice and is on track for a trial Monday week over 400 metres. 21.01.2022 European Listed winner We have been lucky enough to be offered a share in an exciting last start stakes winning 3Y0 filly from Germany, through our good friend Jane Henning. She is in work with Sydney based trainer Matthew Smith and will trial next Tuesday. ... Her name is Cliffs Art. She has had 8 starts for 4 wins and 1 placing. Matts comments Cliffs Art was one of the top 3yo fillies of the past season in Germany. As a 2-year-old she was good enough to run 2nd to Django Freeman (2nd in German Derby Group 1 and now in Australia), and then as a 3-year-old won 3 of her 4 starts and with any luck in running should have remained undefeated. Her last start win was at stakes level which only adds to her terrific black-type pedigree page. I thought her last win was very impressive given she was caught wide in the run and still managed to win against a very competitive field. Theres no doubt she has the potential to be a top-class stakes performer here in Australia.

21.01.2022 Oceanex draws badly in the Melbourne Cup Our Melbourne Cup-bound 5YO mare Oceanex has unfortunately drawn badly (barrier 17) just to add to the enormous task in front of her on Tuesday. We are under no illusion as to her chances. However, she is in the race that stops the nation! Our partners will enjoy the ride come what may.... Interesting statistics highlighted recently by Racing Post on the background of the last 10 winners of the Melbourne Cup: All winners had won at Group level going into the race (two were Group 1 winners) All winners had won over at least 2400 metres (two had won over 3200 metres previously) Nine of the last 10 winners carried no more than 55 kilograms Nine of the last 10 winners finished top four at their last start Eight of the last 10 winners were aged four to six (based on Southern Hemisphere breeding) Eight of the last 10 winners were bred outside of Australia We are taking some comfort from the above (we will take any positive - LOL) Oceanex has won at Group 2 level Oceanex has won at 2400 metres and 2800 metres Oceanex will carry 51.5 kilograms Oceanex finished third at her last start in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Cup Oceanex is a five-year-old Oceanex is a New Zealand bred mare

21.01.2022 We have secured a position in a cracking filly by Savabeel out of a stakes-placed Duke Of Marmalade mare with Te Akua Racing in New Zealand. She was a $300K purchase at the 2020 Karaka Sales. David Ellis, the principal of Te Akua is one of the best judges of yearlings in Australasia. The Savabeel - Duke of Marmalade cross had been very successful with 70% winners to runners and 8% stakes winners to runners.... Hopefully, this filly will become another stakes winner for this cross.

19.01.2022 We have secured a position in a European stayer with OTI Racing! The timing of this opportunity is not good given we have bought a couple of recent. However, that is out of our hands, and it is not every day you get the chance to buy into a performed European stayer that will run 3200 metres. So, we have joined OTI Racing to race the French stayer Rider In The Snow, who will be trained by Kris Lees in NSW. ... He is a 5YO gelding who has won three races (two over 3000 metres) and been placed 6 times from 10 starts. For our newer partners and followers, for a number of years, OZ Racing was involved with OTI Racing buying shares in their European horses. We have had great fun winning Group races and competing at the highest level: Au Revoir - winner of the Toulese Derby in France winner of the Grand Prix de Clairefonteine in France - winner of the Group 2 Zipping Classic at the Spring Carnival and ran 8th in the Melbourne Cup (what a thrill) Pakal winner of the Listed Cranbourne Cup winner at Caulfield 3rd in the Group 2 Carlyon Stakes and Listed Slick Pix Stakes 5th in the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes Pemberley winner of the Bairnsdale Cup 3rd in the Group 2 Brisbane Cup two times winner a Flemington and ran 14th in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup Count of Limonade winner of the Moe Cup and Avoca Cup Kitten On The Run, Caillebotte, Lunayr, Studio - Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane metro winners. We have nothing but respect for Terry Henderson and his OTI Racing team. Rider In The Snow has arrived in Melbourne and now doing his mandatory time in quarantine before he heads to Kriss stables for his first Australian campaign.

19.01.2022 It has been exciting times for OZ Racing of recent - we are fortunate to own a share in Oceanex who won the Andrew Ramsden Stakes over 2800 metres at Flemington last Saturday, which gives her automatic entry to the Melbourne Cup. What a Spring carnival we will have, as we are also a shareholder in Glenfiddich, a 2YO colt by Fastnet Rock that ran second to arguably the best 2YO in Australia (over 1400 metres plus) Kings Legacy. Watch the race below. He is now aiming for the stallion making $2 million Caulfield Guineas. https://www.ozracing.com.au/glenfiddich-so-close-to-group-/

18.01.2022 Congratulations to jockey Mitchell Pateman breaking the record of most wins in a season at Kalgoorlie. This doesnt happen by accident - it takes hard work, commitment and above all skill in the saddle. Well done.

18.01.2022 So pleased with our tough galloper Ward Gods effort in this weeks Hannans Handicap - he has run a brave third carrying 59 kg, giving the winner Reykjavik 5 kg advantage. Speaking of the winner, he looks to be a progressive type for Lindsey Smith. Lindsey is firing at the moment and deserves all the success that comes his way.

17.01.2022 OZ Racing Partners Of recent, I have had the chance to reflect on how lucky I have been to race horses with many of you. Some of you have been with me for 22 years this year respect I thank you. I look back and it blows me away to think some of you have supported me over that time. ... We have had some come and go. The partners that have come and gone and decided to buy individual horses none have had success. It is crazy, but over the years I have tried to talk so many partners out of owning a horse by themselves as the risk is too much. Yes, if they happen to win the lottery (and it is a lottery), they will rejoice in glory that they have a quality galloper. But I truly believe if you can race a horse by yourself you should spread your risk and race a couple.

17.01.2022 Winners are grinners!

16.01.2022 Wow we have a runner in the USD$1million Group 2 Godolphin Mile this evening at Meydan. Shamaal Nibras, our tough as nails 9YO has been invited to run (World Cup night entries are based on ratings and invitation). He is up against a field half his age but you have to be in it to win it. His recent win the Group 3 Jeb Ali Mile was enough to get him a start. ... What a buzz to have a runner on Dubai World Cup night!!!!

16.01.2022 Glenfiddich Well things did not plan out the way we were hoping, or should we say wishing, as we knew it was a gigantic task to have Glenfiddich to drop back to 1200 metres against the best 3YO sprinters in Australia. As trainer Peter Moody said, it was worth a throw at the stumps given the Coolmore is a stallion making race. The pleasing thing is he came through the run well and will now head to the paddock. We will always have the what if moment when we look back on th...is campaign what if he did run in the $2 million Caulfield Guineas, the race over 1600 metres that he was set for and had to be scratched the week of the race. Peter Moody and Luke Nolan were beaming with confidence that he could win. To also think that Glenfiddich finished in front of eventual winner of the Guineas, Ole Kirk, when he ran second in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes earlier in the year. And, to think if he had won or ran well, he would have started in the Cox Plate what a thrill that would have been to have a runner in the Cox Plate. Anyway, we are very proud Glenfiddich and hope he can win that Group 1 he deserves in the Autumn. Bruce Saxild

16.01.2022 Winners Are Grinners Shamaal Nibras A super first up win by our 8YO galloper winning the UAE Martyrs Cup over 1600 metres at Abu Dhabi a week ago (he won the same race last year). This takes his international rating to 108 which means he could start on World Cup night in Dubai. ... He has been a fantastic horse for connections his record last campaign was terrific in high-quality races 7 starts for 2 wins 3 places

16.01.2022 Looking forward to our 4YO Oratorio mare All Square returning to racing this Thursday at York. After a super Kalgoorlie campaign under the care of veteran trainer George Grljusich, where she had 4 starts for 2 wins and a second, we sent her back to Perth under the care of promising young trainer Neville Parker. We are hoping she can at least step up to mid-week class this time in. Good luck to our partners, most of whom raced the talented Bombora with us.

13.01.2022 We have secured a position in this super colt by Ocean Park out of an O’Reilly mare, a breeding nick that works. He was selected by trainer Robbie Griffiths and leading bloodstock agent Peter Ford. This colt ticks all the boxes. Peter Ford said he was my favourite yearling (at the sale), he is perfectly balanced with flawless conformation. He has the right bone, size and shape to suggest he will grow into a magnificent individual. He had a flawless purposeful walk with a fantastic overstride. He has been broken in and now back at Robbie’s Cranbourne stable for further education before going out for a well-earned break.

11.01.2022 Vert De Grece x Lady Kiseki filly Our latest acquisition has been picked up from the farm to commence her breaking process. It is going to be interesting to see her progress. I am really hoping she develops into a staying type. We had a share of her dam and this is the family of our stakes-winning mare Just A Kiseki.

08.01.2022 A good effort by War God yesterday at Bunbury - he has run fifth beaten 1.25 lengths - he has been up a long while and continues to hold form as Neville Parnham trained horses can do late into a campaign.

08.01.2022 Winners Are Grinners! Congratulations to our partners in War God - what a tough win. Good ride by Brad Parnham and super training effort by Neville Parnham to keep this horse in the zone after 14 runs this campaign.

06.01.2022 Team Update Winners Are Grinners War God! Congratulations to the partners in War God with his super tough win at Ascot yesterday. What an effort and hats off to Neville for keeping this fellow in the zone after 14 runs this campaign. ... Im sure glad I didnt listen to some of our partners or he would have been in the paddock! I have learnt over the last 18 years that if Neville feels a horse can continue late into a campaign they can - he is a master of keeping horses ticking along when they are happy and fit. The Team Perth All That Sizzle|Neville Parnham will trial tomorrow over 400 metres at Belmont. All Square|Simon Miller has stepped up in work getting close to returning the track this filly has the ability so we look forward to saluting the Judge real soon. Avastaar|Neville Parker kicked off his racing career today at Northam ran down the field but we didnt expect much of him today we will push on to another 1600 metre stat. Hit Tune |Fred Kersley in the paddock. Nicconis Boy|Neville Parnham had his first start today at Northam had no luck at all in the straight with major interference at the 200 metres definitely a pass mark today he runs in the money if he had a half decent crack at them. Perspectiva|Fred Kersley in the paddock. Pick Up Line|Fred Kersley in the paddock. Locklear |Neville Parnham has had a slight set back which means she cannot trial tomorrow hopefully she bounces back soon. Something Big |Neville Parker doing the hard yards slow work. Vision Up|Neville Parker over raced on debut even so, we were very happy with her effort most likely will start Melbourne Cup day at Bunbury over 1100 metres. War God|Neville Parnham Winners Are Grinners!!!! Neville says he has pulled up well from the run so we will push on to start number 15 for this campaign. Melbourne Hula Star|Robbie Griffiths doing the hard yards slow work we are hoping she steps up to city grade this time. Ocean Park filly - 2YO|Mick Price in the paddock set to go into work 10th November. Pemberley|Aaron Purcell has pulled up sore after a fast gallop very disappointing as it looks to be serious. Snitzel filly - 2YO|Mick Price up to doing fast work cannot wait to see if this filly has a motor. Gold Coast Caillebotte|Matthew Dunn trials cancelled so it has been a little frustrating very close to returning to racing. United Arab Emirates Shamaal Nibris|Doug Watson new season starting soon hopefully he can do well this season.

06.01.2022 Oceanex - Winners Are Grinners We are excited about the prospects of our 3YO filly Oceanex who won yesterday at Moonee Valley. She has had four lifetime starts for two wins, a second and a third place. She debuted at Pakenham where she was too far back in running and ran home well to run third. Her second start at Yarra Glenn she was a good thing beaten but for some bad luck, running second.... At her third start, she destroyed the field in winning her maiden at Geelong over 1700 metres on a heavy nine track by 7 lengths eased down. Yesterday trainer Mick Price dropped her back to 1600 metres for her metropolitan debut which wasnt ideal but she showed she has class as she copped some interference in running and was five wide on the turn and didnt look like she was going to pick the leader up but really pushed hard the last 200 metres to win. As some of you know OZ Racing has been syndicating racehorses for 20 years (first runner March 1998). We have syndicated horses in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore. Aside from syndicating horses in our right, we are always on the lookout to buy shares in yearlings or performed horses we like where we dont manage the syndicate we go along for the ride. This approach has seen us win a Derby in France, a Group 2 in Dubai, two Group 2 races in Melbourne and have a runner in the Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cup. Oceanex was purchased by Mick Price and his racing manager Luke Wilkinson in New Zealand. We were keen to buy into her based on the cross of Ocean Park over a Danehill mare and the fact she has a strong staying pedigree. So our thanks to Mick Price and Luke Wilkinson and congratulations to the OZ Racing partners that have come along for the ride based on what we have seen to date, we may be in for some fun times going forward! 04.01.2022 Go Glen! Good luck to all our partners in Glenfiddich tonight when he runs in the Group 2 Stutt Stakes over 1600 metres at Moonee Valley. He was very brave taking on the older horses in the Group 1 Menzies Stakes when running third to Behemoth at his first start this campaign. Peter Moody is very happy with him - we just need the rain to stay away.

04.01.2022 Exciting times! We have an outstanding filly by the white hot stallion Written Tycoon for syndication. To be trained in Perth by 13 times champion trainer Neville Parnham - https://www.ozracing.com.au/shares-for-sale/

03.01.2022 Congratulations to Dan Morton and team with the feature double. Well done Paula Sullivan and Laurance Torpy - what mare she is! It goes to show again you do not need to spend a lot of money to find a good horse - Dainty Tess passed in for $25,000 and Man Booker sold for $25,000.

01.01.2022 Good luck to Wally and George Daly with Vega Magic flying the flag for Western Australia in the $10 million Everest today.

01.01.2022 The Flemington Spring Carnival week commences tomorrow, and we are very lucky to be part owners in two horses competing. Tomorrow our exciting 3YO Fastnet Rock colt, Glenfiddich, will line up in the stallion making $1.5 million Group 1 Coolmore Stakes over 1200 metres. If he wins, it would be an extraordinary effort giving that he was being prepared for the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas over 1600 metres and then on to the Group 1 Cox Plate over 2040 metres, before he had to be s...cratched from the Guineas four days out from the race and undertake a minor throat operation. So to drop back to 1200 metres is a big task, but trainer Peter Moody believes he is a high-quality colt and deserves his chance to go around. He is unloved by the racing media leading into the race due to the above, but you have to be in it to win it, and Peter is not taking him to the races just to make up the numbers. Our other runner Oceanex will line up in the $8 million Group 1 Melbourne Cup on Tuesday. What a thrill to have another runner in the Cup. We had Au Revoir run in the 2014 Cup finishing 8th after racing three and four wide for most of the race. Oceanex goes into the race as an outsider in what the racing media are saying is one of the best Cup fields for many years just our luck! We will enjoy the incredible experience and be proud of her no matter where she finishes. Good luck to our partners. Bruce Saxild

01.01.2022 Coventry To Rio former OZ Racing mare I was recently doing some research on Mungrup Stud’s very promising stallion I’m All The Talk and noticed his first stakes winner, Watch Me Dance, is out of the Oratorio mare Coventry To Rio who we purchased from Mungrup Stud as a yearling and raced.

27.12.2021 Rider In the Snow to debut tomorrow Our European stayer Rider In The Snow will make his Australian debut tomorrow at Rosehill. He will run first-up over 1900 metres. Trainer Kris Lees believes it is a good starting point for him. We are not expecting too much as his form in Europe is over further hopefully, he will be our 2021 Melbourne Cup runner!
