18.01.2022 THE RESULTS ARE IN! And they may shock you. More than 10,000 people took part in a Today Tonight online poll on the importance of spelling, and an astounding 95% said they believed it was important. However, recent statistics clearly demonstrate declining literacy and spelling standards across Australia. Today Tonight put these figures to the test with an on-air experiment on Monday night which pitted the generations against each other in a spelling test. The outcome was wor...rying as the youngest generation was revealed to be the worst spellers. That's Generation Y, the generation of those born after 1983 and which includes our children. Without a doubt, Australian literacy and spelling standards are falling, and it is our children who are suffering. Help fight for a brighter future for our children by promoting youth literacy and spelling skills. Register today!
