16.01.2022 DUE TO GLOBAL PANDEMIC - COVID-19 RESTO EXPO 2020 RE-SCHEDULED NEW DATES - AUG 14, 15 & 16, 2020 We know how much OzVMX fans love the Resto Expo weekend and we love to see the smiling faces, however at this time, without question all Aussies need to do their part to slow down the spread of this virus so our medical facilities are not overwhelmed and the resources are available for those who need them. The only way to do this is to stay away from each other and cease to pa...rticipate in activities where we may be at risk. To do the right thing, we have re-scheduled the 2020 OzVMX Resto Expo. The new dates will be the weekend of August 14, 15 & 16 2020. We understand this is the second postponement this year and apologise for the inconvenience. We hadn’t planned on two biblical type of events to screw things up for us though, and as true, tough motocrossers do, we are riding to the conditions. For those of you saying you ran out of time for this year so will show your bike next year, no more excuses! With the extra time this year, the fact you are confined to your sheds, and there is no racing to watch on TV, what else are you going to do other than finish off that resto! When the worst of this is all finally behind us, hopefully in 5 months time, no doubt we’ll all be completely stir crazy and needing some fun. So save the dates, you can trust we’re not giving up, the Resto Expo will be going ahead, and what a party it will be! 07.01.2022 DARGLE UPDATE RESTO EXPO CHANGE OF DATE WAS - 13, 14 & 15 MARCH - NOW 17, 18 & 19 APRIL Many would have seen the incredible videos and pictures posted of the flooding at Dargle over the weekend. Flooding like this does happen occasionally at Dargle and sometimes the water subsides, there is not much mess, and they get on with life on the farm. Not this time! Last night I received an update from Wayne Smith the Dargle property owner and he advised me that the Dargle track is... still under water and as the flood waters are subsiding, a 20-30cm deep layer of mud is being left behind on the riverbank where the Expo is held. Bottom line, the damage the flood has done and the damage the machinery is doing as they clean up means the Resto Expo can not take place over the weekend planned of March 13, 14 & 15. I am left with 2 x choices. Cancel the Expo or postpone it to give the grass time to regenerate, time for the cleanup and Wayne time to repair and prepare the Motocross track. Looking at available alternative dates, with Easter coming up, all the other events on the calendar, and all the bookings in place at Dargle, the one weekend that can work to postpone the Expo to is the weekend of April 17, 18 & 19. After phoning around today, it seems in one way we are very lucky, just about all the bookings have been available on the new date, and apart from the date, very little will change. The band is rebooked, the food vendors are rebooked, the marquees are rebooked and the management team are rebooked. I hope this doesn’t inconvenience too many of you. As we are all aware though, the circumstances are completely out of our control. 07.01.2022 2020 OzVMX Resto Expo - Corona Virus Update Update Mar 15 - Planned to proceed as scheduled With the 2020 OzVMX Resto Expo planned to be held in 5 weeks time over the weekend of April 17, 18 & 19, 2020, at this stage the event is planned to proceed as scheduled. We’d like to reassure the whole OzVMX community we are closely monitoring the developments of this very fluid, rapidly changing, community health issue, and if anything changes with our plans, we’ll keep you informed... through posts on the OzVMX Resto Expo Facebook page. Regarding the current government guideline relating to gatherings of 500 people of more, during the largest weekends of previous Expos, as the event is spread out over 3 days, the maximum quantity of people attending at any one time has reached well under 500, so the event attendance is very unlikely to exceed the current government recommended 500 person threshold. In the meantime, keep polishing those parts and preparing your latest builds. After all this doom and gloom, by late April we’re all going to be a little stir crazy, and getting out there in the country sunshine and clean air on the mighty Hawkesbury river surrounded by beautiful old dirt bikes might just be the tonic we’ll all need

04.01.2022 After much deliberation, we are very disappointed to announce that in this current COVID-19 affected environment, we feel the only right decision to make is to give up on 2020, and further postpone the OzVMX Resto Expo until 12, 13 & 14 March 2021. Yes, it is frustrating, but with the recent second wave of infections still increasing and causing further tightening of restrictions across NSW, to continue to plan running such a public event that relies upon spectators to make it the special show it is, would not be in keeping with what our community requires of us at the moment. We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We will get out there and when we do what a party it will be. The OzVMX Team
