19.01.2022 **** Fortify your immune system **** With the latest directives from state authorities advising masks to be worn when leaving the home, the message we dont see is how to really fortify and improve your immune system. Foreign and harmful pathogens enter the body when the immune system is not in a position to defend against them, when that happens you become sick. Soooo, what can we do that will legitimately and categorically improve your immunity to viruses?... - Keep active and improve your cardiovascular system - Eat whole foods that contain essential minerals and vitamins - Ensure you supplement your vitamin C and Zinc if you are lacking - Get outside, get a quality dose of vitamin D everyday - Please sleep - Take steps to reduce stress, take your mind off world issues.. do you like reading? 15.01.2022 **** Help us keep our gym pretty **** Team, if possible, and were asking nicely please be extra vigilant and aware of how the gym is being treated, we need everyone to really play their part in keeping it clean. We are doing cleans once a day which is a far cry from our usual schedule and everyday we are seeing wipes on floor, toilets super dirty and generally the place a little worse for wear.... 14.01.2022 **** Perfectionism **** In a world that obsesses over everything being perfect, one wonders is it healthy? When speaking from a fitness aspect, I think the coin has 2 very relevant sides. Perfectionism can 1 - Keep you engaged and determined for your goals... Perfectionism can 2 - Bring on stress and anxiety when you are not attaining your goals Is there a right or wrong with perfectionism ? We try to stress to people that goals are great, working to them and staying the course is even better but obsessing over what the scales say or what your squat numbers are is not conducive to sustainable progress. As a business, we know how much perfectionism can infiltrate our work-place and can absolutely lead to stressful situations. The list of negative topics that impact our lives can keep us up at night, I know because there have been many times for us looking at our white bedroom roof just wondering and wondering and worrying. Sleep is so important, not only for the obvious need to be functional for the next day but also the long term for your immune system, heart health and of course... mental health, poor sleep has a close relation to 3 of those key personal areas. In the space of 2 weeks, our groups members have been invited to conduct interviews on all main TV networks, The Herald Sun, SEN as well as multiple podcasts and live streams.... Our groups members have had the opportunity to talk broadly about the role fitness facilities play for peoples mental health, physical health and sense of belonging and community in these extremely tough times. Our group is pushing for a re-classification of gyms, we simply do not want to be considered on par with Nightclubs or Pokies facilities when consideration is given for safely re-opening our state. We believe, the role gyms and fitness facilities play for all of the community is far more important than what is currently being broadcasted. 06.01.2022 **** Easing of restrictions **** Great news! The restrictions on density limits of 8m2 per person have been lifted, thus meaning we do not have to have a booking system. The new directive is 4m2 per person, this gives us an abundance of opportunity to have everyone train at the times they wish ... This coming week we will be updating the group PT time table and will be moving the majority of our sessions indoors, there will be times if the gym is jam-packed busy that we may continue to go outdoors, but essentially it will be back to normal pre-Rona Our standard hygiene practises remain, we ask that you also remain vigilant and ensure you also follow them. - Bring towel - Wipe equipment - Suitably distance yourself from others - Keep your hands clean with soap or sanitiser See you in club #TeamOzzFit
