16.01.2022 Helen Reddy, the Australian singer best known for her anthem 1972 hit I Am Woman, has died at 78. Reddy had been diagnosed with dementia in 2015 and had been living in a Los Angeles nursing home for professional entertainers. Reddy might have once been famously called the queen of housewife rock by Alice Cooper, but her music captured the zeal of a generation of women radicalized by the sixties and a nascent second-wave feminist movement.

16.01.2022 Sadly Ron Tudour passed away today, he was 96. Ronald Stewart Tudor MBE (born 18 May 1924) is an Australian former producer, engineer, label owner and record industry executive. He started his career with W&G Records in 1956 as a sales representative; he became their in-house producer and A&R agent before leaving in 1966. He briefly joined Astor Records as their promotions manager until 1968 when he created his own production company, June Productions. He followed with his ow...n record label, Fable Records, late in 1969 and continued as its CEO until he sold the company in July 1984. In June 1979 Tudor was installed as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire with a citation, "For service to the recording industry". At the APRA Music Awards of 1996 he received the Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1999 he received a Special Achievement Award, which was shared with Bill Armstrong of Armstrong Studios. See more

12.01.2022 Australian music legend Max Merritt has died in a Los Angeles hospital after being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease. The musician, of Max Merritt and the Meteors fame, passed away on Thursday, aged 79. He had been battling Goodpasture Syndrome, an auto-immune disease where the body mistakenly makes antibodies that attack the lungs and kidneys.

10.01.2022 Just posted Mental As Anything doing a great version of "Silent Night" on the Blog. This will be my only Christmas post for this year as I'm still having a lot of computer issues but fingers crossed 20/20 it will be all fixed and full steam ahead, really miss posting those Aussie gems that are hard to find. Only plus side is I have obtained a lot in the last few months so plenty to go with next year. All the best for Christmas to everyone here and see you all in 20/20 with lots of music.

04.01.2022 R.I.P. Ronnie Peel, Ronnie was a one-time member of The La De Das between 1973 and 1975. He then went solo as Rockwell T James. His one and only album was produced by Garth Porter of Sherbet. The single ‘Roxanne’ reached no 46 in Sydney and no 26 in Melbourne in 1976. The song was co-written by Peel with Garth Porter and Tony Mitchell of Sherbet. Most recently, Ronnie was a member of John Paul Young’s All-Stars.

01.01.2022 Graeme Strachan aka 'Shirl' passed away on this day, August 29th, 2001. He was flying a helicopter at Mount Archer in QLD, encountered turbulence, the helicopter crashed, he was only 49.
