25.01.2022 DOMESTIC RUGBY UPDATE Following a meeting of the IRFU Rugby Committee yesterday, all rugby matches have ceased until at least the 27th October. Training is ...still allowed to continue, with protective measures staying in place for all other teams We continue to encourage our members to follow social distancing, practice hand washing and to not attend the club if they have symptoms or have been in close contact with a confirmed case. Please see below details from IRFU: The IRFU Rugby Committee have voted unanimously to reduce the number of games permitted in all four provinces. The decision has been made based on the latest medical, public health and government advice where appropriate from the Government of Ireland and the Northern Ireland Executive. From midnight tonight, the following are the only domestic rugby matches permitted in all four provinces. Energia Men’s Community Series All Conferences. Energia Women’s Community Series Connacht Conference 1, Leinster Conference, Munster Conference 1, Ulster Conference. The Energia Community Series was first announced in July as a competition to allow senior adult clubs play only localised games as a means of mitigating the possible transmission of COVID-19. No other adult or underage fixtures including competitive and friendly matches are permitted. Rugby training at all levels of the game may continue with protective measures in place, as per government guidelines. The committee wish to clarify that the following matches are also no longer permitted in Level 3. Adult Provincial Qualifying League Matches U20 Premier matches Conference 2 matches in the Energia Women’s Community Series These measures will remain in place for all competitions until October 27th, after which an update will be provided. I want to recognise the huge amount of work undertaken to bring about the return of grass roots rugby in all four provinces. All clubs remain open for training and their role as a hub for health and wellbeing has perhaps never been more important. It’s also important we keep amateur rugby to the fore and the Energia Community Series will continue as a modified version of the All-Ireland League. The fact remains that COVID-19 is still with us in the wider community and the government message is clear we need to reduce travel and reduce our contacts. For rugby, reducing the amount of games is a disappointing but necessary way of doing this. Finally, I’d like to thank your club for playing its part in keeping us all safe. Please continue to demonstrate the safe behaviours that allowed rugby to return this year and ensure your COVID-19 Health & Safety Plan is up to date. Regards, Greg Barrett IRFU Rugby Committee Chair

20.01.2022 We are so delighted to be in partnership with Lurgan Rugby and Cricket Club This club has done so much for the community over the years and especially throug...hout this pandemic with providing support and delivering 100s of food parcels to struggling families. Christmas is the most magical time of the year but it has always been a tough time for many people, this year more so than ever. No child should have to go without at Christmas and we are here to help so please get in touch either directly with the club or this page. Together we want to help as many families in our community with Christmas and our promise is that both the giver and receiver of the gifts remain anonymous

18.01.2022 Hope everyone is looking forward to Saturday.

13.01.2022 LURGAN RF & CC... Following a serious incident in which one of our mini rugby Tigers was covered from head to toe in dog excrement we have started locking the g...ates at the club. The reason we have signage around the ground banning dogs is to protect our players from such an incident. We have no issue with members of the public running around our pitches or kids playing but dog fouling is extremely dangerous and can cause blindness. I hope everyone understands our stance on this. Please share... See more
