24.01.2022 To kick start our NAIDOC Week here at PA the Kindergarten children were doing some amazing boomerang dot paintings. For the Indigenous Culture dot painting is how they tell their stories. Indigenous Culture is mainly an oral one, with history and life information passed down through the generations by telling stories and painting pictures, using symbols that are easily recognizable. ... #NAIDOCWeek2020 #NAIDOC

22.01.2022 Starla-Rose, Riley, Isabella and Caoimhe were very excited to sit and pose with the amazing prism tower that they had participated in building. Well done everyone. #QCCS #childcare #earlychildhoodeducation

21.01.2022 The Kindergarten children really enjoy our family style dining on a daily basis. They love having the opportunity to serve themselves. By doing this we have far less waste as they only take the amount that they want. If they need more to eat then they help themselves to seconds. #familydining #QCCS #childcare #earlychildhoodeducation

11.01.2022 The children in the Kindergarten room love engaging in the loose part area on a daily basis. The benefits of playing with loose parts include: Increased levels of creative and imaginative play. Children learn to play co-operatively and socialise more.... Children become physically more active. Loose parts facilitate communication and negotiation skills when added to a program. #looseparts #loosepartsplay #QCCS #childcare #Earlychildhoodeducation

10.01.2022 Always Was, Always Will Be NAIDOC Week 2020 recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. The 2020 National NAIDOC Poster, Shape of Land, was designed by Tyrown Waigana, a Noongar and Saibai Islander man.... Tyrown’s artwork tells the story of how the Rainbow Serpent came out of the Dreamtime to create this land. It is represented by the snake and it forms the shape of Australia, which symbolises how it created our lands. The colour from the Rainbow Serpent is reflected on to the figure to display our connection to the Rainbow Serpent, thus our connection to country. The overlapping colours on the outside is the Dreamtime. The figure inside the shape of Australia is a representation of Indigenous Australians showing that this country - since the dawn of time - Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land. #QCCS #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC
