25.01.2022 MISSING 13&14YO GIRLS, REDCLIFFE Queensland Police Service is seeking public assistance to locate two teenage girls reported missing from the Redcliffe area... since yesterday. The girls aged 13 and 14 were last seen on November 16 at an education facility on Oxley Avenue however have not been heard from since. 23.01.2022 ALEXITHYMIA & AUTISM Alexithymia is the difficulty in identifying, processing and conveying one's own emotions and sensations or recognising those of others. I...t is very common amongst Autistic and other neurodivergent people. As one of our Autistic mentors describes, "It means I often don’t know how to recognise and communicate my emotions - NOT that I don’t have emotions at all." 22.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has been incredibly patient and flexible with moving appointments around, including to telehealth while I anxiously await the foaling of my new brumby mare, Winter. For those who haven’t met her, Winter was wild - passively trapped in July and after spending 10 days together at camp I brought her home to continue her training towards becoming a part of our equine therapy herd. I didn’t know at the time (although it makes sense!) that Winter was preg...nant before she came home. She should be foaling any day now (the milk bar is looking very full) but you never know when! Thanks again for your patience now and in the first week from when the foal arrives, as mum and bub need extra monitoring to make sure both are happy and healthy. I look forward to sharing some photos when the foal FINALLY joins us - Sam

21.01.2022 We are having problems with our phone. Please use email [email protected]

20.01.2022 That’s a wrap on 2020 Merry Christmas to all of our PAAW friends and families. We wish you all the best over the holiday season - please be safe and look after each other. It’s been quite a year! We will be back on the 4th of January 2021.

18.01.2022 We love this post! It speaks of the individual differences for kids and teens with Autism. After all, all people are different! Warm smiles

16.01.2022 Nala is super excited to announce that We have a new room! For those who don’t know, PAAW is on the first floor of an arcade, which is only accessible by a flight of stairs. We have now leased an extra room on the downstairs level - making life a lot easier for our clients for whom the stairs are unsuitable! ... All of our clinicians and canines will have access to this room, so please just let us know if you would like your appointment to be downstairs (we need to share the room, so you will need to let us know). This room will also be available for a few other purposes, such as working with children with dog phobias, running kids groups and ADOS-2 assessments! There are still some finishing touches to be made, but the couches are in and the power is on - so we are able to start using the room from now!

04.01.2022 The update that many of you have been waiting for. My brumby mare Winter foaled a big beautiful colt at 8pm last night. It was lucky I was there because she did need a bit of help to get him out. I have to say, there’s probably not much that can top pulling a foal out of a brumby! Winter is obviously an incredibly experienced mother, she has been very calm, assertive and protective. ... Power & Ruby are very excited to see the arrival of their new herd mate (from a safe distance). Welcome to baby Thunderstorm (Storm for short), we will give him a little while to settle in to see if he suits his name! Thank you so much to everyone who has been so patient with rescheduling your appointments to make room for this little man
