25.01.2022 6 years ago today it was my best childhood friends birthday who had recently passed away from a long struggle with ABI induced bipolar. It was also the day we ...got Toms diagnosis of stage 4 carcinoma of the sigmoid with Mets to the lymph nodes. There began the long journey of chemotherapy, radium, endless meds and scans, colostomy bags and wound dressings, Glen 20 smells galore and our home turned into a hospital. Our only thought was to make every day count. We just wanted Tom to be able to do what he wanted to do before he was to ill. So often I just wished for a little break, and for my girls to be able to have some time without having to deal with this anymore, then immediately felt guilty because I knew what would have to happen for us to actual get this. I thought of my best friends wife and how she must have felt the same. Wherever we went we would still have to be on carer duties, never really getting that break and those illnesses would still be there in the backfired l background, invading every corner of our lives. From this two ideas grew in my busy little mind. Tinks Wish List and Pabs Place. I will never give up on either. Thinking of the two who inspired them, and gave me something positive to focus on when all seemed so hard to deal with. I thank you both for this xxx Tink xxx

21.01.2022 Please don't ask me to put a on my wall. Please don't ask me to share only with women on my friends list. Cancer does not discriminate. This is how I raise... awareness for cancer: I talk about it out loud. With anyone and everyone. I tell them my experiences, share prevention measures. I let therm know when to have the checks, share awareness posts, donate to causes. I nag my friends and family about lifestyle choices that increase their chances because I love them and I am sick to death of losing people I love to this stupid disease. I make a lot of noise about cancer so someone listens. Hearts on walls are cute but telling as many people as you can, changing your lifestyle so your kids learn a better healthier way to live and promoting early detection might make a real difference. F#@k cancer. Kick cancer in the facehole. Now is awesome. That's for Connie. 14.01.2022 K's for Carers starts today. I have been practicing walking this week without the little involuntary flick kick my leg has wanted to do since surgery. We are c...alling it the fairy flick so it doesn't seem so scary. It has pretty much disappeared now. This past week my daughter has had to be my carer. She has done a super job helping with cooking and taking me on walks to get me up and moving, helping with housework and just being a great support when I get cranky with myself. I am not a very patient patient My daughters had to be carers when Tom was ill too. There they were right in the middle of that nightmare called adolescence having to care for a sick parent so their other parent could work or take a break or secretly have a breakdown. That's why I wanted to do K's for Carers this year. My girls are my heroes. They are forever changed by their experiences, but I am proud of who they've become and the people they are. Anyone, anytime can become a carer. This is how we are showing our support. Who are you walking for? xxx Tink xxx https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/TheUniqueTeam See more
