22.01.2022 Thanks to one of our psychology team members, Becky for sharing this handy resource with us. Becky writes "Anxiety can be very upsetting for children when they don’t know what to do to feel better. It can lead to all sorts of emotional dysregulation, behaviour problems and have a negative impact on the whole family. Anxiety can be managed easily when a child finds the right ‘tool’ to fix the problem they are experiencing. It really is just a case of trying out some strategies until you find the right fit for your child. Here are some easy to use ideas that can be very effective in helping a child to manage their anxiety before it gets the better of them."

18.01.2022 Today we got together as a team for our quarterly TEAM DEVELOPMENT DAY. We had a lot of fun and like true psychologists spent lunch talking about animals instead of people We celebrated Lynn’s birthday which we thankfully got to do at her first week back in the clinic. #paceaheadpsych

15.01.2022 As we continue to explore anxiety in children, let's turn our attention to SELECTIVE MUTISM. How do you know if your child has selective mutism!? This is always best assessed by a psychologist but some indicators that you may need to reach out to a professional would be: Talking freely at home, but becoming completely or mostly nonverbal at school or around strangers Inability to speak even to familiar adults in the presence of others... Difficulty talking to peers at school Seemingly "shut down" in social situations Using gestures, facial expressions and nodding in place of verbal communication Here are some things parents can do whilst supporting your child to see a psychologist.
