17.01.2022 Testing for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is only available for people who are feeling unwell AND have travelled overseas in the past 14 days OR have had contact... with a confirmed case of the virus. If you havent been overseas or been in contact with a confirmed case, you will not be tested for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) because it is more likely you have another virus such as a cold or influenza. Just as with any virus, our recommendation is that you stay home if you're feeling unwell, contact your doctor or call 000 in an emergency. Visit our website to stay up-to-date with the most current advice and if you're concerned, take the coronavirus quiz www.health.qld.gov.au/coronavirus

04.01.2022 To our patients, Do you have any questions regarding coronavirus (COVID-19)? We may be able to help! A lot of people have been asking about coronavirus. So we thought we'd give you a small update. ... Vaccine:- - No, unfortunately there is no vaccine against COVID-19 as of yet. - since COVID-19 is a different flu strain to influenza, having a flu vaccine from 2019 will not protect you from the disease, but still good practise to regularly get your yearly flu shot (due to arrive in April) Hygiene:- - the best prevention is to practise healthy hygiene - when washing your hands sing "happy birthday" twice while scrubbing with soap (or scrub for at least 20 seconds) rinse, then dry with paper towel - use hand sanitizer when possible - cough into your elbow, not your hand, or use a tissue and wash your hands immediately after In relation to face masks:- - face masks are best used when you are sick to prevent others from contracting the illness - as stock is limited we cannot give every patient a face mask The practice:- - our staff regularly sterilise all public areas including the desk, chairs and door handles so as not to put our patients at risk - if you see something that needs attention, let reception know and we'll attend to it If you believe you're at risk:- - if you have flu symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, sore throat and cough AND - have travelled overseas in the last 14 days OR - have come into contact with someone who has travelled overseas in the last 14 days Immediately contact us on 3711 2280 for more information. Do not come into the practice. This puts others at risk. We can organise a home visit from public health should you believe you're at risk. Again, we are happy to answer any of your questions. Comment below or call the practice during business hours if you have any concerns.

03.01.2022 This is a friendly reminder to our patients to phone the practice and let our friendly receptionists know if you're booking for the following: children's vaccinations, drivers medicals, procedures, skin checks or pap smears as these need longer appointments and this cannot be done online.
