25.01.2022 These little ones are not so little anymore and have grown before our very eyes! thanks for your testimonial! My sons Oscar and Osman have been training with Pa...cific International Taekwondo since they turned 7. They are now 9 and 13 years old. I love the philosophy and principles of Pacific International Taekwondo, to train members with respect, that in particular is an important aspect of life for kids to learn. Both Oscar and Osman are learning taekwondo not just for fun, but so they have the skills to protect themselves with self - defence. As parents we want that for our kids. That practical defense and the high level of physical fitness they are achieving make the training program very rewarding. Aiming for grading and being graded successfully each time is a great achievement for them too. Thank you so much for the support given throughout the years from instructors Roneil and Janelle, as well as Grandmaster and Master Inst Margaret. #taekwondo #pacificinternationaltaekwondo #training #members #selfdefense #instrcutors #masterinstructor #grandmaster #fitter #faster #stronger #active #brisbane #australia

15.01.2022 We will be conducting outdoor training sessions starting this coming Monday. These sessions will be one-on-one sessions with an instructor and the student. We have started messaging some of the students, we will complete messaging the rest of the students over the next few days. Since we will be only able to conduct these session of 2-3 students at a time, booking for these training sessions would be required. We will be doing these training session possibly at the park behind our branch at McPherson Park. For our students who live in the Chermside area, we can do our training at any of the parks nearby. Due to lighting coming close to winter, we will have to training earlier in the afternoon (4-5pm, 4:30-5:30pm, 5-6pm).

10.01.2022 Grade and Go! Re the grading tomorrow and COVID-19. This is not a big grading and its in two sections as usual so were not expecting a large number of people... in the hall at one time, but we want to reduce the chance of spreading the virus so when you have graded please leave. There will be boxes of tissues and hand sanitiser in the hall for everyone to use. Have a good grading everyone! See more

07.01.2022 Re Taekwondo training and the COVID-19 virus. We want you to know we are taking the virus seriously and will be taking care to avoid all unnecessary contact (close partner training) during our classes. Luckily our class sizes are small so we can space students widely apart to maintain social distancing. Class training will include the practise of techniques, fitness and stretches that we rarely have time for - as well as individual patterns. Although hand sanitiser is unavai...lable well be having regular handwashing breaks too. So for now class training is on as usual, we will keep you up to date via this page and the newsletter too.
05.01.2022 Traditional martial art training for normal people. So youre unfit and uncoordinated...not into violence or aggression...hesitant about starting something new...dont want to feel awkward? Perfect, youre normal! Youll feel welcome at Bracken Ridge, learn to protect yourself, gain confidence and get fit too. Free trials now on and just $69 for your first month including a uniform. For more info message or: [email protected]
04.01.2022 Hi everyone, starting from next week we will be commencing outdoor group sessions on Mondays and Thursdays. These sessions are only limited to 10 people including the instructors. So we can only book 7-9 students during these sessions. These sessions will be done either on the basketball courts at the school or at McPherson park behind Woolworths. Because it is getting darker a lot earlier now the training time will be 4-5 pm. We are offering these sessions first come first serve, so booking is essential. We will no longer be offering one-on-one sessions.

03.01.2022 A message from the Bracken Ridge Branch Instructors Roneil and Janelle: Effectively as of 12 pm today. The Australian government has placed ban on all indoor sports activities and gyms in response the to recent developments regarding the COVID-19. Due to the nature and location of our training, we will be temporarily ceasing training until further notice from the Austrailan government. In the 16.5 years that Instructor Janelle and myself have been training and the 9 years we... have been instructors, we have worked hard around our work and studies to make sure that the Bracken Ridge branch classes remained opened. We never thought the day would come that we would have to close our doors. To ensure the safety of our students all training conducted indoors will be temporarily ceased which includes our branch. We understand that a lot of our students just graded and yet to complete learning the rest of their new patterns, new kicks and sparring. But we encourage you to continue your own training at home during our normal designated training times. We want to assure our students and the parents that the Bracken Ridge Branch will reopen. During our temporary closure. Grand Master has set up a Dropbox of Taekwondo workout sheets and training plans for different belt groups. In addition, outdoor training sessions will be held during the weekends, where we can maintain social distancing during training. This will most likely be held in a park, depending on the number of students attending. For further information about the weekend training sessions and the Taekwondo training plans, please contact 07 3889 9551. Be sure to check your emails regarding home training and weekend training sessions. Instructor Janelle and myself are doing our best to contact all our members to inform them that training has been temporarily cancelled. As healthcare professionals, Janelle and I would like to ensure that everyone is safe during this pandemic. Ensure that everyone maintains proper hand hygiene and social distancing. We look forward to seeing everyone back once training recommences.
03.01.2022 Ever asked yourself if your training will work to save you if you need to use it? This article explains about the different ways of learnng and practising Taek...wondo. You may ask, why is Taekwondo not the best self-defense martial art? Why does it exist if it does not teach self-defense? Is martial arts not meant for self-defense and combat training? https://www.handerick.com/taekwondo-for-self-defense/ See more
02.01.2022 Outdoor training session today with students Oscar and Osman
02.01.2022 Someone asked the question - What do you think about attending Taekwondo class just 1 day each week. This is the answer.... The problem with training once a we...ek and then training on your own for 6 days a week is that: [Day 1] Your instructor teaches you good technique and form {Days 2 - 7] You practise what you think your instructor said, but don’t get it all correct, and it's tough to train alone without an instructor's guidance, so by day 5 you decide to wait until your next lesson. [Day 8] Your instructor spends an hour trying to help you catch up to where you were at end of your first lesson. OR [Days 2 - 7] You do no practise [Day 8] Your instructor goes through the same techniques which you have not practised and have mostly forgotten. That's why training more frequently will give you a much better grounding in good technique reducing the possibility of picking up bad habits that are hard to break! If you can only attend one lesson each week it's worth investing a good training aid - a mirror! Set it up so you can see your start and finish points, stances and body angles. You don't always feel when your stance is wrong - a mirror will show you straightaway so you can self-check and correct.
02.01.2022 My name is Rebekah Redman 2nd Kup. I joined Pacific International Taekwondo in February 2017 training under Grandmaster, Master Instructor Margaret and Senior... Instructor Steve at the Clontarf branch. Since Grandmaster retired and the Clontarf branch closed, I have been training at the Bracken Ridge branch under Instructors Janelle and Roneil. I started doing Taekwondo for self-defense and fitness and it has been a great adventure for me. There has been a lot of ups and downs but it has been worth it. I started in 2017 and made it to 2020 as a brown belt. Under the guidance of Grandmaster, Taekwondo has taught me discipline and patience. My goal is to reach my black belt, and I know that with hard work I will achieve it and if I still enjoy it, I will keep going and get my dans. I am very excited to keep going forward with my Taekwondo and I cant wait for 2021. I do miss Grandmaster and Master Instructor and thank you both for your time and patience as you guided and helped me towards achieving what I have to date.
