03.01.2022 Someone asked the question - What do you think about attending Taekwondo class just 1 day each week. This is the answer.... The problem with training once a we...ek and then training on your own for 6 days a week is that: [Day 1] Your instructor teaches you good technique and form {Days 2 - 7] You practise what you think your instructor said, but don’t get it all correct, and it's tough to train alone without an instructor's guidance, so by day 5 you decide to wait until your next lesson. [Day 8] Your instructor spends an hour trying to help you catch up to where you were at end of your first lesson. OR [Days 2 - 7] You do no practise [Day 8] Your instructor goes through the same techniques which you have not practised and have mostly forgotten. That's why training more frequently will give you a much better grounding in good technique reducing the possibility of picking up bad habits that are hard to break! If you can only attend one lesson each week it's worth investing a good training aid - a mirror! Set it up so you can see your start and finish points, stances and body angles. You don't always feel when your stance is wrong - a mirror will show you straightaway so you can self-check and correct.
