05.01.2022 The Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL) was updated to include the occupation of Social Worker (272511), based on advice from the National Skill...s Commission. PMSOL is created to fill critical skills in the health care, construction and IT sectors to boost both the health and economic response to COVID-19 during the period of economic instability. The priority processing of nomination and visa applications for PMSOL occupations are applicable to the employer sponsored visa subclasses: 482, 494, 186, 187. Also, offshore visa holders, who have been sponsored by an Australian business in any of the PMSOL occupations will be eligible for an exemption from current Australia’s travel restrictions. Existing skilled migration occupation lists will remain active and visas will still be processed, but priority will be given to those in occupations on the PMSOL. The PMSOL priority are Australians, but also skilled migrants. Employers looking to nominate applicants on the basis of PMSOL list will need to advertise their vacancy on the Government’s jobactive website in addition to the current requirements of two national advertisements.
