Nos reunimos de manera virtual con representantes de las comunidades del Valle del Alto Cachapoal, con el objetivo de trabajar en la nueva versin de nuestro fondo comunitario Creciendo Juntos. En esta decimocuarta versin, marcada por la crisis sanitaria, buscamos reforzar nuestro compromiso con el trabajo colaborativo, la sustentabilidad de las iniciativas y la participacin de las localidades de Coya, Chacayes y Termas de Cauquenes. Extraamos ...mucho el contacto presencial diario con nuestras comunidades. El trabajo en pandemia no se detiene y estamos muy contentos de ver cmo los representantes de las organizaciones han mostrado su motivacin y compromiso en esta nueva versin del fondo comunitario Creciendo Juntos y participaron activamente en una videoconferencia, seal Rodrigo Vargas, jefe de Recursos y Comunidades de Pacific Hydro Chile. Durante la reunin se invit a los asistentes a seguir tomando resguardos y mantener una actitud preventiva con sus amigos y familias. La crisis la pasamos juntos Y Juntos nos hacemos ms fuertes!

Our Health and Safety team have developed a personal wellbeing program which staff can access from home, at any time - including: virtual yoga classes, a mindfulness program, a healthy mind and body dashboard with webinars on various topics and healthy eating tips and recipes and a virtual fitness competition. 18.01.2022 Were very excited to see the progress the wonderful volunteers at Ararat Neighbourhood House have made with their ANH Patch project. The project, which was granted funding from the 2019 Ararat Sustainable Communities Fund, was due to be completed earlier this year but has been delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions. Once completed, the Patch will provide an inclusive, all-access community garden space where people of all ages, abilities and cultures can come together to share and learn from each other. Ararat Neighbourhood House Manager, Lou Makin, said We look forward to inviting everyone to explore the Patch when restrictions allow. 18.01.2022 Across Australia, thousands of regional Landcare groups, made up of dedicated volunteers, give up their time to protect and restore our beautiful countryside. One of those groups is Rowsley Landcare group, who look after a huge area spanning from the Brisbane Ranges National Park to Werribee Gorge State Park. Recently, in conjunction with the Victorian Serrated Tussock working party, they sprayed 400 hectares of invasive Serrated Tussock, located on steep slopes and only ac...cessible via aerial spraying. A huge effort, and greatly beneficial to the local environment, as well as farmers. 13.01.2022 Congratulations to Portland RSL Memorial Bowling Club for completing their project to install a 24 hour publicly accessible life-saving defibrillator. The club worked with Ambulance Victoria to install and register the device to ensure triple zero callers can be directed to it in the case of emergency. Committee Member, Robyn McCabe, said The whole community will benefit as this is the only AED unit which is accessible 24/7. Modern defibrillators are like having an emergenc...y response team as they monitor the heart and provide medical instructions or procedures. When applied within five to seven minutes survival rates improve dramatically. Pacific Hydro is proud to have been able to support such an important project through our Sustainable Communities Fund with grants of up to $10,000 available to support projects such as this. Portland Community Garden received a grant in 2019 to build raised garden beds that provide access to students and volunteers of all abilities to enjoy and learn about working in the garden. Wayne Barrett, President of the Portland Community Garden, said Thanks to Pacific Hydros generous donation we have been able to create an opportunity for people with disabilities to join in our volunteering program. 05.01.2022 The Ararat Vri Bowls Club has received a much needed face lift with the resurfacing of the car park area by Ballarat company Smith & Wil Asphalting. Assistant Treasurer, Cheryl Shea said The comparison between before and after is amazing. The safety worries we had, walking across the rough stone surface, has been fixed and the dust problem for the neighbours has been eradicated. It will be so safe and easy for us to wheel our bowls bags over the smooth surface. The project, which received $10,000 funding from the 2019 Ararat Sustainable Communities Fund, will provide lasting benefits to the local community. 05.01.2022 El trabajo colaborativo con las comunidades es parte de nuestro ADN y en el contexto actual, no es la excepcin. Agradecemos a la Villa los Cipreses de Coya, que nos permiti trabajar juntos una vez ms para llegar a las comunidades vecinas del valle del Alto Cachapoal y de nuestro parque Punta Sierra con la elaboracin de 1.200 mascarillas. Pacific Hydro nos plante la idea, como forma de retribuir y de ayudar. Nos compr el gnero y los hilos, cuenta Gloria Lpez, quien ...preside la junta de vecinos y tena los conocimientos necesarios para fabricar estos insumos. Ella, junto a un grupo de 15 mujeres, se capacit gracias al programa de entrenamiento de Pacific Hydro, instancia que les permiti adquirir mquinas de coser y emprender. Fue entretenido. Nos demoramos una semana, bamos todos los das, tres horas a trabajar, manteniendo los resguardos. Tenemos una sede grande, as que pudimos mantener la distancia correspondiente, explica Gloria Lpez. Y reconoce que aparte de sacarnos del estrs, la satisfaccin de saber que estamos ayudando a la comunidad es impagable. En total confeccionaron 1.200 mascarillas hasta que nos dio el elstico, afirma la presidenta de la junta de vecinos de Villa Los Cipreses A travs de Gloria, queremos abrazar a todas nuestras heronas con mquina que nos permiten hoy ayudar a prevenir el contagio de Coronavirus. 01.01.2022 A big shout out to the Koroit & District Kindergarten on completing their story wall and gathering place project. Over 6 years and 3 stages, with lots of obstacles in between, it has been a labour of love and dedication from the committee, but their persistence has paid off! The wall, which depicts eras in the areas history, has received nothing but positive feedback from the local community. Sam OKeefe, 2019 Committee President, said The entire community has congratulated the kindergarten on providing a piece of story art that has lifted the look of the roadscape as well as making the front lawn safer for the children."
