24.01.2022 All well at Pacifique Vue. The cyclone spared this little piece of paradise relative to the rest of the island! No damage to the building, we have water, power and phone back after the storm! There is not a leaf left stuck to the walls every inch of every surface is cleaned and looking great. Pete has fixed the pool pipes and pump! With just a few trees to clean up! We are then going to plant lemon, orange, bush mango, lime and banana trees. Self sufficiency is the new a...im. We were lucky, the east and north sides of Efate were hit much harder by the cyclone.We visited a couple of villages and a few isolated houses with food, seeds and water, and there was a guy driving his water truck around the island filling up residents’ containers. Port Vila is on the mend. The moon eclipse was big and bright here the other night and plenty of locals were diving on the reef with their torches because full moon fishing is good. Pacific life is getting back on track , plenty of work has been done, plenty of work to be done, but its hard to keep the locals smiles away for long !
