25.01.2022 Learn Ayurvedic Massage in this 3 Day Workshop in Grafton at Clarence Natural Therapies Ayurvedic Massage excites/stimulates our cells into activity. It encourages nutrients, oxygen and pranic life-force to circulate more freely. With appropriate massage, tiredness and toxins are washed away. Ayurveda emphasizes self-awareness and appropriate self-care in order to keep our body, mind, and spirit healthy. Massage is often described as being one of the most important Ayurvedic... regimes. Massage or Abhyanga as it is traditionally known, includes the oiling of all of the joints and the stimulation of main marma points. Each energy point (marma) is related with one or more other areas or organs of the body. Marmas are like acupressure points. They are concentrated energetic swirls in the rivers of our energy flows. Each one of the points stimulates a particular organ or body function. See more

21.01.2022 Begin to explore how Ayurveda can support you achieve health and vitality in this One Day Workshop at Twin Rivers Retreat. Ayurveda has its roots deep in India’s history with thousands of years of practical application. According to Indian mythology Ayurveda originated around 6000BC when a group of Sages held compassion for mankind's suffering. These sages recognised that disease was at the root of this suffering, hindering mankind’s ability to live a fully conscious life an...d to fulfill life’s responsibilities. Through a keen observation of the Laws of Nature, they devised a complete "science of life". A science that seeks to bring vitality, stamina and strength to the body, clarity to the mind and a deep inner connection with the pure consciousness. Disease is once again at the root of our suffering and society is moving further and further away from nature’s rhythms, often neglecting the importance of the mind, body and soul connection. Health can be elusive, a wisp of wind dancing just out of reach. It is easy to feel overwhelmed, tired, in pain and out of balance in today’s fast paced world. One could imagine easily the ancient sages holding compassion in their hearts for us, examining ways to firm the foundations of our health and wellbeing. Ayurveda has much to teach our modern world. Ayurveda has much to teach us.....

13.01.2022 Reflexology It is difficult to know just when Reflexology began. It is clear that it is an ancient science with roots in Egypt, India and China as far back 2,50...0 BC. Hieroglyphics on physician’s tombs, ornate stone sculptures from India and ancient writings from China verify this. It seems that many civilisations have tapped into this simple approach to maintaining health and wellbeing, to assist us in our soul’s journey. The organs, the glands and the muscles are reflected upon the feet, neatly packaged anatomically just as in the body. It takes very little imagination to perceive the reflection of the head upon the toes, the expansiveness of the chest in the ball of the foot, the soft abdominal area in the arch and the strong, sturdy pelvis around the heels. So there is a map of the body reflected on the feet and by easing tension, tightness and tenderness from the feet, we can have a beneficial effect upon the body. Each of the organs are energised, the hormonal system balanced and the circulation improved. Reflexology can instill a general sense of wellbeing and contentment. And specific conditions can benefit from regular reflexology sessions. Many documented case studies have indicated beneficial results for: PMT, migraine, sinus, colic, menopause, constipation/ diarrhea, back pain, neck pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, asthma, stroke and menstrual irregularities. It is very simple to perform on yourself. I love this ancient Ayurvedic saying: Disease does not go near one who massages his feet before sleeping, just like snakes do not approach eagles. Just massaging your feet before bed can have profound effects on your health and well being. There is something quietly reverential about the art and science of reflexology. To hold the feet in the palm of the hands is to hold the whole body, the whole being..... So why not give yourself 10 minutes a day to quietly ease the tightness, tenderness and tension from your feet and from your body? It can bring balance.
