24.01.2022 Who wouldn't want to play here!?! These engaging playspaces created by the talented educators in the Makuru Room celebrate the power of storytelling to promote childrens cognitive and literacy development. When children act out stories, it allows them to bring their ideas to the group and to create meaning around text, providing an important stepping stone in their developing literacy skills. #EARLYLearningMatters #PadburyEducationandChildcare

21.01.2022 Research tells us that quality early childhood programs can set children up for success at school. Our play based programs support each child to develop social, emotional and cognitive skills such as negotiating friendships, independence, pre-literacy and so much more. We currently have limited vacancies available in the 3-5 years age groups so get in quick and snap up an extra day before they disappear!

21.01.2022 Padbury Education & Child Care Centre is proudly a Not-For-Profit, community owned organisation providing high quality education and care to Padbury and the surrounding community for over 30 years. 20.01.2022 Today is the start of Reconciliation Week 2020 and we would like to take the opportunity to recognise the Traditional Owners of the Land upon which we stand, the Wadjuk People of the the Noongar Nation. We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Elders, men and women who have taught and cared for their children, past and present.

20.01.2022 These gorgeous little knee blankets have been hand made locally and are perfect for the kids to snuggle under in this cold winter weather. You can have one of these sweet blankets for a $2 donation and you will be helping us raise money for the Womens Health and Family Services in Northbridge. This service supports women and families with medical issues, counselling, drug, alcohol, domestic violence and mental health. They also have crèche facilities on site to care for the children.

19.01.2022 Playing in and with nature is a vital sensory experience for our young children, delivering a high degree of brain activity which is hugely beneficial for their development. When children play outdoors on the grass, or play with leaves, rocks, dirt, sticks and sand; they have the opportunity to practice risk management while developing curiosity, imagination and self-esteem. Our outdoor environments have been intentionally designed to incorporate many natural elements and ...present physical and intellectual challenges, which children are encouraged to play with and explore. Children learn in a holistic manner, and the various scents, lighting and textures that children observe each day and indeed each season, help children to develop an awareness and appreciation of nature while challenging their problem solving abilities and physical competencies. #EarlyLearningMatters See more

17.01.2022 As a community we are all devastated by the fires occurring right across our country. If you would like to help, please make a donation and add your name to our gum tree to show your support for the people and communities that are so horribly effected by these bush fires. All monies raised will go to the Salvation Army Disaster Appeal.

17.01.2022 Here are some of the wonderful answers to today's philosophical question in the Makuru Room... Why are some apples red and some apples green? F - "Because they taste different" N - "Because the green apples are sad and the red apples are happy" I - "Because they float in the pool" A - "Because they grow that way"... M - "Because they get painted them colours" F - "Because the sun makes them different colours" M - "Because they are the same colour as your dress" O - "Because they melt into green or red apples and they then melt to apple cake" See more

17.01.2022 These beautiful coconut scoops provide a gentle and calm experience for the children as they listen to the sound of trickling water, feel the drops of water run across their hands, and build their sense of purpose watering our thirsty plants. Finding space and time to just be, to feel connected with ourselves and those around us, to wonder and to explore. Creating moments for peace and mindfulness.

16.01.2022 A special morning tea in the Makuru room filled with love and care and precious things... and of course yummy food to eat!

15.01.2022 Our large natural playgrounds provide children with an abundance of loose parts such as sand, water, rocks, leaves, branches, mud, seed pods and grass - and lots of space to play! Our natural environments engage children in the wonders of our world and lead to greater connection with nature. These spaces invite open-ended interactions, exploration, curiousity, spontaneity, risk-taking, discovery, and real life experiences for young children. And lets face it.. there's nothing more lovely than wriggling your bare toes in real, soft, green grass! Thank you to all the toes featured in our morning of play #natureplay #realgrass

14.01.2022 As Early Childhood Educators and advocates, we know that Early Learning Matters. Its what we do every day; its our lifes work, and for many of us, its our driving passion. Today we take a moment to thank our Educators for their commitment and professionalism, their knowledge and wisdom, the hugs, the stories and songs, the band aids on the knee and the high fives when our kids reach that goal. Thank you #EarlyLearningMatters

13.01.2022 Last night our Infant Care Teams in the Birak and Bunuru Rooms took part in specialist Pikler/RIE training to support their knowledge and practises in working with babies and toddlers. Embedding these gentle and respectful care routines into our daily practices supports each child to develop safe and trusting relationships with those around them, and to grow and develop at a pace that is appropriate to their needs. Want to learn more about the RIE approach? Pop in and have a chat with Chantal and Laura for more information

09.01.2022 A huge congratulations to these wonderful Educators, Diane who is celebrating 15 years of service and Hannah who is celebrating 10 years of service. What an amazing contribution they have both made to the Education and Care sector! Thank you for your professionalism and all the incredible work you do to enhance the lives of young children

09.01.2022 High quality education and care supports young children to learn and thrive. The best vehicle to drive childrens development is through play, and our educators plan a variety of experiences each and every day to inspire and provoke childrens play. Being invited to join childrens play is one of the most rewarding moments during an educators day, a time to have fun, and teach various skills and concepts. Why not check out our foyer display each day this week for simple play based activities and projects that the whole family can get involved with? #earlylearningmatters

08.01.2022 This amazing piece of artwork was created by the children with the help of our friends from Urban Indigenous and tells the story of how the children travel to and from our edible gardens. It is now proudly displayed at the front of our centre next to our newly planted Native Edible Garden, and we look forward to many happy days caring for and eventually tasting the bush tucker foods that we harvest. Wed love to hear what you think of our mural..

07.01.2022 National Science Week is an annual festival of science that takes place in August each year. Most of all they have been laughing and enjoying a variety of hands on science experiments. We would like to send a special thank-you to Amy for joining us today to celebrate Science Week, and share her expertise with us.

07.01.2022 Donate your nappies now! You can find our collection box in the foyer near the Birak room. From 6 to 20 September, The Nappy Collective is calling on families to spring clean their cupboards and donate their unneeded, unused, disposable nappies to babies in crisis. In Australia every day, about 250,000 children dont have enough nappies to keep them healthy and comfortable. Their families may be fleeing domestic violence, seeking asylum, or struggling with homelessness, me...ntal illness, drug abuse or extreme financial hardship. Theyre faced with the heartbreakingly difficult choice between buying other essentials such as food and medicine or enough nappies. The Nappy Collective is the only organisation in Australia focused exclusively on helping families with their nappy needs. Since 2013, The Collective has collected nearly 3 million nappies through its biannual drives, and distributed them via its national network of charity partners to families experiencing extreme nappy stress. To learn more about The Nappy Collective, please visit www.thenappycollective.com.au See more
