25.01.2022 ROUTINES - Morning tea and Lunch Whilst it looks like children are simply eating their morning tea, this time is a valuable learning opportunity for children to chat to each other, practise turn taking, learn about healthy food choices, using manners and table etiquette and so much more. Here at PCK, the educators use this time to connect with the children, get to know them better, question and gain understanding about their views and ideas. These routines can also be used to have intentional conversations and practise skills such as rhyming words, counting, initial sounds, syllables etc.

23.01.2022 MUD PLAY - Do you remember what it felt like to squelch mud through your toes? MUD PLAY is amazing, not only it delivers a great play experience for our children, but its easy and affordable to get involved. There is a growing body of research into why kids have an inbuilt need to play in mud. This type of play has many physical, psychological and emotional benefits for children. Some benefits include increased brain activity and physical activity, makes you happy and builds... creativity, builds a connection with nature and an adventurous spirit and children just love it! Mud play will help children achieve many key developmental milestones such as fine and gross motor skills, sensory awareness, balance and coordination. Mud play will also create opportunities to practice social skills and help children to make sense of the world. Whats important is that we provide opportunities for them to do it and give them permission to get dirty! See more

23.01.2022 Kindy Concerts How many of you remember holding very important concerts for your own family and teachers when you were younger? These Kindy children enjoy putting on puppet shows, ballet and singing concerts, and even circus tricks for the lovely, patient, and enthusiastic Mrs Mattingley. To see the children all willingly and eagerly have a go at performing, growing in confidence each week, is a joy and will help develop their sense of self-efficacy. We are all different, we are all unique, we are all special!

18.01.2022 At Padbury Community Kindergarten, the painting area is a regular learning space offered to the children. The educators at PCK believe that the painting experience allows children an educational opportunity that is also fun and exciting. Painting can help children communicate their emotions or feelings. Through the use of different colours, they can express themselves without the use of words. Painting aids in the acquisition of hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, as they strengthen their hand and finger muscles. The educators at PCK regularly see it as a great way to develop childrens creativity, a skill vital for our learners of the future. Painting can also help children learn sizes, shapes, patterns, and designs. Did your child bring a painting home today? Take the time to talk to your child about what they have created.

18.01.2022 Come and grab yourself a Bunnings snag and support Padbury Community Kindy. We will be here until 4pm today!

Here at Padbury Community Kindergarten, the educators value the many benefits puzzles offer young children and the shelves are filled with many puzzles ranging in difficulty to meet the differing needs of all children.
