21.01.2022 Dear Parents and Guardians We trust you are well and remain calm in these uncertain circumstances. At this moment, Paddles is running all swimming classes as normal.... We are taking the necessary measures to ensure that Paddles is safe and clean for all our students, their families and our staff. These measures include: - Asking all students to wash their hands or use the provided hand sanitisers before and after their classes - Remind students not to touch their faces particularly their eyes, nose or mouth - Regularly disinfect surfaces such as door handles, baby change tables, benches, pool equipment, floors and counter tops - Minimise teacher to student and student to student contacts If you would prefer to keep your child at home, we can completely understand. Please call Front Desk to mark your child's absence and in good faith, we will extend all make up class entitlements until end of 2020. We are also taking deposits for Term 2 as per normal. However, in the event that Term 2 is cancelled, all deposits will be refunded in full. Alternatively, if Term 2 was to start later than the normal schedule, fees will only be calculated on the remaining classes for that Term minus any deposits paid. Please DO NOT attend swimming classes if you or your child: - Are feeling unwell with a dry cough, sore throat, breathing difficulties or flu like symptoms. Please contact your local GP or nearest hospital to inform them of your concerns - Have a confirmed case of COVID-19 or have had close contact with someone diagnosed with the virus - Have returned from overseas in the past 2 weeks. As per the recent mandatory requirement, please do not attend swimming classes until 14 days of self isolation after you have returned back into Australia - If your child's school, kindergarten or child care is temporarily closed due to the virus concerns. Please wait to resume swimming classes until the school/kindergarten/childcare has allowed students to return. We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and following the advice from both the Health and Education departments. We will regularly update all parents and guardians of any changes in our timetable. Thank you for all your support and consideration. Kind regards

Our instructors are having fun creatively designing their masks. Debbie here has gone with an Under the Sea theme. What sea creatures can your child see? See you all this week!

09.01.2022 Please remember to only swim at patrolled beaches in between the red and yellow flags!

09.01.2022 As the situation deepens we are taking extra precautions at Paddles. Where ever possible, can families only have one guardian taking their children to swimming classes. Please also allow for greater personal distance while sitting on the benches, perhaps place a bag or towel between each person. We also encourage families to take showers at home to avoid any congestion in the bathrooms. We are suspending make up classes until the end of this term. However, we are allowing make up classes to be made up before end of Term 4 2020. We hope everyone is staying safe during these uncertain times.

08.01.2022 December 2020 Newsletter is out today with information for Term 1 2021. We are now taking deposits to secure spots for Term 1 which is due by Sunday 6 December. Preferred payment is by bank transfer with reference to your child's initials and surname or payment over the phone. Please contact us if you have not received the newsletter or if you do not have Paddles' bank details.... Thank you again to everyone for following our COVID-19 procedures and ensuring a smooth transition on swimming classes. Just a reminder with the weather warming up, please keep safe around water.

08.01.2022 Trust everyone is getting back into their routine and preparing to go back to school this week. This is just a precautionary message regarding the coronavirus that we have been seeing in the news. If you and your family have recently visited Wuhan, a district of Hubei Province in China or have been in contact with person(s) confirmed of having the coronavirus, we ask that you do not send your children to Paddles for swimming lessons until you all have been back in Australia f...or at least 14 days and show no signs of any illness or have been cleared by local health authorities. We can mark your classes absent and you can do make up classes anytime during the term. Your cooperation in this matter is important and we want all our students and their families to feel safe and happy when they come for their swimming classes. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by calling 9315 8680 or emailing us at [email protected] See more

As we are not able to always go into Paddles now, emails will be delayed in replying so best to call us. Please stay safe everyone and look out for each other.

08.01.2022 It hasn’t even been a week but we are already missing everyone. Just because we are physically distant at this time does not mean we cannot stay connected and we intend for this page to be our online home for a little while. We hope to use this space to keep in touch with our Paddles community. We know that we are all spending a lot of time at hom...e so we have created some Swimming and Water Safety activity worksheets to share with everyone. 05.01.2022 TALKING TO YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT CO-VID19 We are so pleased to share a wonderful book created by one of our Paddles mums Charlie Golding. When the world went inside is a great kid-friendly resource to help children understand and navigate through all the change that is happening at this time. The book is available for pre-sale now. You can find more information at www.whentheworldwentinsidebook.com or www.facebook.com/whentheworldwentinside

05.01.2022 Some more great shots of our superstar students completing their Paddles worksheets. Siena has done such a wonderful job and we love how she drew herself swimming in between the red and yellow flags. Siena also had a great discussion during the activities to extend her knowledge on the key water safety topics. It is so great to see brothers Ethan and Connor working together and their results are awesome. It was also a great moment for Connor to send through an adorable ...video message to his swimming teacher. Staying connected and engaged while staying safe at home! Keep sending in your photos and messages.

05.01.2022 Good morning. Hope you are all well. You may have heard the latest news on swimming pools being allowed to be opened by 1 June. Unfortunately the guidance on swimming classes are unclear. To ensure the safety of our students, their families and our staff, we will not be re-opening just yet until we have more information. Please rest assure that we have been busy planning our re-opening. There will certainly be changes but good changes. Will keep everyone posted and will ensure to give plenty of notice as to when we will re-open so that families have time to plan for swimming classes. Again, thank you for all your patience and support. Should anyone have any questions, please feel free to email us at [email protected] or call us on 9315 8680 during office hours.

04.01.2022 We apologise that our email service is currently down. We are working urgently to get the service back online. If you need to contact us please call us on 9315 8680 (leave a message if the line is busy) or send us a Facebook message. We appreciate your patience on this.

As per the legal requirements, it is still mandatory that all adults within the centre wear a face mask. It is also compulsory that all parents/guardians wear their face mask covering their mouth and nose at all times. See you at the pool!

02.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas from all of us at Paddles!

01.01.2022 We have had some wonderful stories coming in about how are our beautiful students are still practicing their skills in the bath. We love reading these stories, keep posting them as it brings some happiness in these hard times. This weeks tip: 10 fast kicks which can be practiced in the bath, on the edge of a bed, on a chair or laying on the floor. Focus on little kicks with long legs and toes down. Stay safe hugs to all our families. The Paddles Team.
