20.01.2022 Feedback can be a generous gift is delivered with compassion and the intention to help the other improve. Silence changes nothing.

19.01.2022 Fear can mean 'Don't do this" or "Be careful when doing this". Public speaking is the latter. Take care, prepare and get help. If what you have planned is life threatening, take special care. Public Speaking doesn't fit into this category.

18.01.2022 What do you think about thinking?

15.01.2022 When speaking to audience, the first impression is often the only impression. Beginning well is everything.

14.01.2022 We have a very old brain and a much newer one. The very old one is concerned with survival. The new one can do cool things like plan, make complex decisions and monitor the activity of the old one. Being scared of speaking in public is an old brain activity. It thinks that we might die. Use your new brain and take a breath. Thank the old brain for warning you and keep on the path of improving your public speaking. It won't kill you and can help many people including yourself

12.01.2022 Saw this sign in France. "If you take my parking spot, you also take my handicap!" Sounds fair.

11.01.2022 If you are an introvert and want to improve your speaking skills, you don't have to pretend you are an extrovert. You have two choices. Develop your own style as an introvert or learn how to behave like an extrovert. This will take hard work and you will need to recover afterwards. Take your pick. Some of the best speakers are really introverts and topic experts

09.01.2022 A myth exists that extrovert speakers are more courageous than their introvert cousins. More likely, the extroverts feel less fear. This makes the introvert speaker the one with courage. Being more sensitive, they feel the fear but still choose to speak in public. Let's admire the speakers with real courage.

08.01.2022 I am reading a wonderful book which I recommend highly. It is called "Give and Take" by Adam Grant. Do you think takers do better than givers? Read the book.

07.01.2022 Make 2016 the year when you speak out. The year to give well deserved feedback to those who serve you and constructive feedback to those who need a nudge to get them back on track.

05.01.2022 Je suis Paris....

05.01.2022 Find your voice this year. Rosa Parks and Malala Yousafzi both found their voices and changed the world.

05.01.2022 Make this the year that you speak up and find your voice. Your speaking up may encourage others to do the same. Express your appreciation, your disappointment, your anger. Speak up.

03.01.2022 Is it insincere to say you are excited when you aren't? Of course! People may see the way you express your excitement as an indication of insincerity. Take care. Introverts may be very excited but not express this in the same way an extrovert would.

03.01.2022 Have you ever thought about creating your story? Just thinking about your story can have huge benefits. Writing it down is the next step. The final step is to tell it to others. It's not just the famous people that have great stories. Everybody's story is great.

02.01.2022 If you are looking for an excellent book on Presentation design and delivery, I recommend 'Presentationzen' by Garr Reynolds. Great ideas.

02.01.2022 If your 'nerves' prevent you from speaking out in public... Either thank them for the warning and go ahead anyway ( this makes them only a warning) or focus on what you are doing at the moment ( this pushes them into the background ).
