17.01.2022 End Trachoma program What is Trachoma? It is a contagious bacterial infection of the eye, causing inflamed granulation on the inner surface of the lids.... Padstow Rotary Club proudly sponsors an Interact club at East Hills Girls Technology High School. Recently, the girls were packing kits for use in aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. They contain soap toothpaste shampoo, a hair brush, toothbrush, a face towel and hand towel, a friendship bracelet & a note from the Interact club . Basically the kit is about hygiene so that they don’t transmit the Trachoma virus to others. A big congratulations from Padstow Rotary Club to all involved in this project !!

15.01.2022 It was great to hear from tonight's guest speaker, Clare Pearson, CEO of Little Wings, based at Bankstown Airport. Clare shared some great information about her organisation which primarily transports sick kids from all over NSW and now Australia to various hospitals for treatment. Some are day trips and others are long stays. Prior to COVID, there were on average 12 flights per week and now there are 21. The organisation also introduced "Medical Wings", which fly's doctors a...nd medical staff around the country to visit sick kids, this replaces the need for them to drive themselves, sometimes 14 hour round trips. Club President Bryan Doyle presenting Clare Pearson with a Boomerang signed by all club members. If you would like to support Little Wings financially, as a volunteer driver or even as pilot, contact Clare via their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/LittleWingsAustralia/ or email [email protected] or call (02) 9709 2570 See more
