25.01.2022 This is an event thatll be sure to have you BUZZing for Lightyears to come! PANDA is proud to announce our second Paediatric Grand Rounds for 2018 To infinity and beyond! We are in for an absolute treat with a wealth of experience and three incredible guest speakers. The Paediatric Association of Notre Dame would like to welcome our very own Professor Andrew Rosenberg (Head of Paediatrics at the School of Medicine, Notre Dame Sydney), Doctor Arjun Rao (Paediatric Emergen...cy Physician at the Sydney Childrens Hospital) and our very own Associate Professor Elisabeth Murphy (Head of Child Health at the School of Medicine, Notre Dame Sydney). The Grand Rounds will cover many interesting cases that we are likely to encounter in our medical careers and has been invaluable for those who attended in the past! 24.01.2022 Today, the medical students, nursing students & staff wore their trendiest dacks for Tracky Thursday! *highlight* Dean Christine Bennett came dressed-to-impress and did disappoint with her David Lawrence velour trackies which complemented her Notre Dame bomber jacket As future health professionals, we are aware of the emotional challenges faced by children in hospital, and recognize the respite that simple distractions and emotional support can provide. Raising $250.35 for ..."TLC for Kids", our day was an absolute success! We look forward to partaking again next year Best dressed awards went to Kristina for her matching pink Mean Girls ensemble and George for his subtle onesie! (Both seen blow) Loved it The new kids on the block Transform Health generously donated 2x10 free coffee cards for a lunch time raffle, and these were won by Jaimi Manfield and Charlie Roth! 23.01.2022 Hey everyone, This year PANDA is teaming up with The Childrens Hospital at Westmead and doing our biggest fundraiser yet! We are putting together a team for the Bob Tug Wilsons Walk for Kids with Cancer to help raise funds for paediatric cancer research. It is a beautiful and scenic walk from the Sydney Opera House to Manly on Sunday 25th March. What better way to revive that new years resolution you promised yourself? Were hoping to get as many students and staff invo...lved in the walk as we possibly can, so please follow the link below and click on the orange Join Team button to be part of team PANDA UNDS. 22.01.2022 Hey everyone! Our first PANDA event for the year is the Bob Tug Wilson Walk for Kids with Cancer. We had an amazing turn out last year, so we are super keen to do it again! In short, we are putting together a team to help raise funds for paediatric cancer research. It is a beautiful and scenic walk from the Sydney Opera House to Manly on Sunday 24th March. A group of medical students from PANDA got up early yesterday and trekked the 26km from Circular Quay to Manly to help fundraise for The Cancer Centre for Children at The Childrens Hospital at Westmead. 17.01.2022 Notre Dame students participated in the Bob Tug Wilson Walk for Kids with Cancer today. We walked 27km and raised over $4000 for the Childrens Hospital at Westmead. Great effort guys!
17.01.2022 PANDA was invited by The Childrens Hospital at Westmead to work together at the Sydney Royal Easter Show during the Easter break. Our medical students helped to run the inaugural easter show edition of Teddy Bear Hospital, which saw many children familiarise themselves with future doctors and MRI scans through play. We all had a blast and would like to thank those involved for the opportunity and hope we can help out again next year!... PANDA James & Aileen

We were inundated with injured bears but managed to fix them all with the help of these clever kids! A massive thank you to these medical students/legends for helping out! 07.01.2022 2017 has been an exciting year for PANDA, and we are humbled to have been awarded the Notre Dame "Best Club Event for 2017 Award" for our Teddy Bear Hospital program, and have also been nominated for an AMSA: Australian Medical Students Association award for best Academic Event of 2017! A big thank you to all the students who have been involved with our events this year! 06.01.2022 This evening PANDA won GOLD at the Sydney Inter-University Paediatric Research Cup!! Fantastic presentations were given by all who attended. We would like to thank our contestants Tyler Hunt, Nathaniel Price, Jess Medland and Michael OSullivan for representing Notre Dame and doing us proud!! The first place prize for the evening was won by Tyler with his presentation on pseudomonas aeruginosa infection in children with cystic fibrosis. His snazzy socks and colourful shirt-a...nd-suit combo made for winning analogies, which proved presenting research can always have a fun side! Thank you to all who made it tonight, to UNSW for hosting us and a special thanks to our very own Head of Paediatrics at Notre Dame, Professor Andrew Rosenberg, for volunteering his time to act on the judging panel for the evening. We look forward to joining up with UNSW, USyd and UWS in 2018 to hear about the incredible paediatrics research being undertaken by our Sydney colleagues, and battle it out for the title again!! 03.01.2022 Last weeks Emergency Paediatrics Grand Rounds held by PANDA was an absolute success with a great student turn out. Thank you to Dr Arjun Rao for giving an informative and interactive discussion on emergency paediatric scenarios; including those that are common and those that are not-to-be missed! The medical students from both Notre Dame and UNSW enjoyed learning how to respond to common emergency presentations and left feeling much better equipped for the future. Thank you also to Transform Health for sponsoring the event with a delicious and healthy dinner afterwards!
