02.01.2022 I have been commissioned to write a "short social history" of Hobart's L'Arche Beni-Abbes Community for its 35th anniversary in May of next year. As part of the research, I will attend a number of community gatherings. The first was a barbecue picnic lunch today at Tolosa Park, Glenorchy. It was a lovely gathering with lots of people, food, laughter, and of course, cricket. Several of us were there as 'guests' and in true L'Arche style, we were welcomed and made to feel very much at home. A delightful surprise was to be presented with this very pretty and perfumed posie of flowers. Although an exciting journey had already begun, today was a special reconnecting with the community. Thank you, Mary, and L'Arche!
