23.01.2022 What a beautiful day it was in Wallaroo today... The chanting was melodic, the incense was fresh, the chips were crisp, the UNO was lovingly competitive, the coffee was well deserve, and the jetty was engineered to some interesting standards. Overall, a great day

22.01.2022 "O Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke, intercede to our merciful God, that He may grant our souls forgiveness of sins." ~Apolytikon, Apostle Luke~ Apostle Luke wa...s an Antiochean, a physician by trade, and a disciple and companion of Paul. He wrote his Gospel in Greek after Matthew and Mark, after which he wrote the Acts of the Apostles, and dedicated both works to Theophilus, who, according to some, was Governor of Achaia. He lived some eighty-six years and died in Achaia, perhaps in Patras, the capital of this district. His emblem is the calf, the third symbolical beast mentioned by Ezekiel (1:10), which is a symbol of Christ's sacrificial and priestly office, as Saint Irenaeus says. See more

14.01.2022 Celebrating 200 years of Greek Independence from the Ottoman Empire, the Port Adelaide Greek Orthodox Community would like to invite and welcome you to the hist...orical and theatrical play, The Woman of Mesolongi (). The play ‘Mesolongitisses’ was written by Dionisios Solomos, the poet who wrote the Greek National Anthem. The event takes place in 1825-1826 when the Ottoman Turks were trying to besiege Mesolongi, a village in Greece. The women on Mesolongi have found refuge on the island of Zakynthos, and gather by the beach to mourn the loss of their husbands, sons, brothers and fathers who stayed behind fighting the Ottoman Turks. 13.01.2022 As God created the virtue of humility to ultimately draw mankind closer to Him through a Christ-like attitude, the Devil unleashed the vice of pride to ultimately blindly lead us away from God through the selfish & self-righteous glorification and embellishment of ourselves.

09.01.2022 M E S S A G E of His Eminence Archbishop MAKARIOS of Australia for the Year 12 students who are about to do their exams My beloved students and children in the... Lord, Be strong and courageous. Do not fear for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. I want to convey these words from the Old Testament to you along with my blessing and best wishes for your final exams that you will be starting very shortly. This has been a very disruptive year with the restrictions imposed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, be mindful that it is our Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the One governing our lives as long as we turn to Him and ask for His help. So, do not be afraid. There is no room for fear for the people of God. We have a loving Father and a caring Mother in Panagia. Pray to them and ask them to be with you. Do your best; aim high and study hard. But as your Archbishop and Spiritual Father, I want to remind you that the most important measure of success is how close we are to Christ. No matter how well or not so well you do in your exams, all things work together for good to those who love God, as St Paul tells us. Without Him, all the worldly accomplishments mean nothing. Only what lasts for eternity has substance and can make a difference and can transform our everyday lives and that of those around us. Keep Him in the equation of your life and in your relationships. My beloved children, be courageous and confident in the challenge that is set before you. I wholeheartedly extend my support and my own prayers for your success; success for your exams; but, also, success in the choices that you make regarding your personal relationship with Christ and His Church. . May God strengthen and bless all of you. I remain, In Sydney, on the 1st day of October 2020 With fervent paternal prayers, Archbishop MAKARIOS Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia .. , , " . ... , , . ". , . .
