22.01.2022 Due to the need for Social Distancing to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus I have decided to cancel all upcoming events. Sorry for the inconvenience but the need to protect my family and help the community is more important at this time. WASH YOUR HANDS, KEEP YOUR DISTANCE AND STAY SAFE!!... Here is a great article (it's long but worth the read) that explains why I made my decision. https://medium.com//coronavirus-act-today-or-people-will-d

22.01.2022 What a fantastic day we had at Peter Lehmann wines learning about acrylic inks while enjoying delicious food and wine. Everyone created a beautiful artwork of their choosing after completing a few activities to get to know how the inks work.

Everybody had the chance to learn about the amazing Derivan Matisse Artist Quality Acrylic Inks through some activities and then create an artwork of their choosing. There was a wide range of subjects and styles and everyone came away with an amazing artwork.... Thank you to everyone who came along making it such a fun day!

19.01.2022 N E W P R O D U C T Grab an art kit to do at home. Plenty of watercolours and paper to keep creating after you've created the projects. Perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine.

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Skye and her husband-to-be Kristian. As part of her hen's day celebrations Skye had a Paint and Plonk event where everyone painted some lovebirds and then had a bit of fun with the groom. He was featured in the second painting getting up to all sorts of adventures...riding a bear, a bunny, a rubber ducky and all sorts of variations.... Check out the beautiful results!

19.01.2022 Its the weekend! We cant go out but grab a glass of wine, start a watch party, and have a go at this kookaburra painting. The second one Im sharing from a p...revious Paint and Plonk event. Don't worry if you don't have any experience drawing or painting, this is for any skill level. I will post an outline in the comments that you can copy or trace as well as what my finished piece looked like as a reference. I used blue, burnt sienna and sepia Derivan Matisse acrylic inks. Just use what you have to hand e.g. watercolour, watered down acrylic paint, water-based textas and water, pencils or even crayons and a biro. Here are the instructions: * Paint the top of the beak with water using the round brush * Add blue ink and spread (this does not need to be even as it adds texture) * Using the paint left on the brush, paint the blue tips on the feathers * Make a Burnt Sienna wash * Use the flat brush to start adding blobs of colour to the bird * Paint the eye with the Burnt Sienna wash using the very tip of the round brush (avoid the highlights) * Add straight Burnt Sienna ink while the eye is still wet then spread * Use Sepia ink to paint the dark areas (make sure the eye is completely dry before painting the pupil) * Add more Burnt Sienna and Sepia where needed (be loose with your squiggles) * Make a wash using the Sepia ink and use for shading * Add any extra squiggles or shading as needed HAVE FUN!! 19.01.2022 Im reminiscing about the days when interstate travel was possible and the wonderful time we had in Tasmania last year. This tutorial if from a Paint and Plonk event that I held at the Puddleduck Vineyard while over there. So join me in a virtual trip to Tassie, grab a glass of wine, start a watch party, and have a go! Don't worry if you don't have any experience drawing or painting, this is for any skill level. I will post an outline in the comments that you can copy or trac...e as well as what my finished piece looked like as a reference. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. I used black (also used to make the grey wash), deep yellow, burnt sienna, green and turquoise Derivan Matisse acrylic inks. Just use what you have to hand e.g. watercolour, watered down acrylic paint, water-based textas and water, pencils or even crayons and a biro. Here are the instructions: * Use a round brush and straight black ink to paint the black areas of the eye and the beak * Use a flat brush to paint the bottom of the duck with water then add deep yellow and burnt sienna then spread * Add deep yellow to the eye with your round brush * Paint the beak with water and deep yellow * Make a burnt sienna wash then add shading to the beak * Add burnt sienna to the eye where needed * Paint the ducks head with water and your flat brush then add green and turquoise and spread around adding more as needed * Make a grey wash to add shadows using your round brush * When COMPLETELY DRY use a pen if needed for finer details Enjoy!! 18.01.2022 I'm joining with two other local artists, Cockadoodle Stu - Artworks by Stu Nankivell and Art by Alexia Prokopec for a great day of mini workshops starting with a glass of delicious Clare Valley wine.

18.01.2022 Recently I did a team building Paint and Plonk event at the Adelaide Plains Veterinary Surgery What better subjects to choose than cats and dogs? Look closely at the group and you'll see a very lifelike one in the middle. What a great group of people and a wonderful idea for the business owners to put this event on as a reward for their staff.

17.01.2022 We had fantastic time at Wild Saffron on Friday night with our Paint & Plonk event featuring Owls and Pussycats (and dogs for those not feeling the cat vibe). A...s always, the food was delicious and plentiful and there was lots of fun and laughter. Everyone created the artworks in their individual styles by getting creative with colours etc. using the vibrant, artist quality, acrylic ink. See more

17.01.2022 What a lovely return to art events. While I’m not holding any larger public gatherings at the moment, I will be taking private bookings for smaller groups. This wonderful family group wanted to have a painting session while staying at the beautiful Bungaree Station Hot chocolates and cake instead of wine and nibbles made it very family friendly.

17.01.2022 I had a nice time with a small private booking for a family group at Bungaree Station on Wednesday afternoon. The kids got involved in the kookaburra painting but chose to do some experimental art when it was time to paint the hollyhocks. Lots of great colours! As we used artist quality Derivan Matisse acrylic inks they can keep their paintings forever as a reminder of their holiday in the Clare Valley.

17.01.2022 Were off to Puddleduck Vineyard in Tasmania!

16.01.2022 With all events and gatherings cancelled and everyone asked to remain at home as much as possible there is a lot of uncertainty in the world at the moment. To cheer you all up and give you something to do while you're isolated here is a video from a previous Paint and Plonk event which shows you how to paint a magpie. Don't worry if you don't have any experience drawing or painting, this is for any skill level. I will post an outline in the comments that you can copy or trace... as well as what my finished piece looked like as a reference. I used black and burnt sienna Derivan Matisse acrylic inks and a black archival pen. Just use what you have to hand e.g. watercolour, watered down acrylic paint, water-based textas and water, pencils or even crayons and a biro. So, grab a glass of wine and have a go. Here are the instructions: * Use a round brush and Burnt Sienna to paint the eye * Make a Burnt Sienna wash (To make a wash you just need a little bit of ink, or paint, and water which makes a lighter colour) to add highlights to legs * Make a grey wash using Black ink and water * Paint feathers and lighter areas * Use Black ink to paint the dark areas * Use the grey wash on the legs * Paint the body shape with water then add Black ink and spread * Do the same for the head * Add extra layers of the grey wash and black as needed * When dry use a pen if needed for finer details HAVE FUN!! 06.01.2022 Well, its the Easter long weekend, a time when a lot of us get out into nature and do some camping. As thats not possible this year I thought it would be a good time to share my koala painting so you can at least feel like youre enjoying the outdoors.
