19.01.2022 Rusted parapet capping resulting in dry rot in the timber frame which resulted in the FC board breaking away due to no support. So we replaced the timber frame with new treated pine, used 2-part filler to restore the finish of the FC and installed a new custom parapet capping. Finished off with 2 coats of Taubmans All Weather low sheen, good as new. For any water ingress issues, we have a solution.
18.01.2022 Removal of old flaking paint then two coats of Taubmans Australia All Weather Low Sheen.
16.01.2022 Did you know old house paint was made of lime mixed with milk and natural pigments. This paint recipe goes back a lot further than that though, over 3500 years ago Egypts boy king, King Tutankhamun's tomb was painted with milk paint! Perhaps Kelis ancestors lured the boy there with milkshakes and covered it up.

15.01.2022 Another roof restoration using the Globalcote Infracote system. Globalcote Infracote paint uses technology to reflect the sun’s radiation away from the roof surface. It works by targeting the invisible infrared portion of the sun’s radiation which means coated surfaces stay cooler and last longer than a coating that absorbs it. Globalcote is 100% Australian made for our extreme conditions, is backed by PPG; the undisputed world leader in paint and a 12 year warranty. ... Contact us for a no obligation free quote.
14.01.2022 PRO TIPS FOR CUTTING IN... After learning how to prep, (and doing lot and lots and LOTS of prep) the first thing an apprentice is told about painting is "you can't paint without any paint in your brush." THE "LOAD & GO" APPROACH-... Load the bottom half of your brushes with paint, tap each side against the inside of the container to knock off the heavy drips, and then start painting. By contrast, homeowners often take a "load and dump" approach of dragging the loaded brush along the sides of their container and wiping off most of the paint. It doesn't do you any good to dunk your brush in paint, then immediately wipe it all off. When your brush is loaded with paint, it's easy to create runs by applying too much paint in corners or along trim. To avoid that, start brushing about 15mm (1/2inch) away from the cut-in area to apply the paint. As the brush unloads, move over and slowly drag the brush along the trim or corner. Let the bristles gently push the paint against the cut-in area where the walls meet. You may have to do this a couple of times to get complete coverage, but it'll avoid excess paint along woodwork and in corners. FEATHER THE EDGE- When you're happy with the cut-in line, finish up by feathering or thinning the edge. Without reloading the brush, drag the tips of the bristles lightly over the outside edge to spread the paint in a thin layer and get rid of any ridges or paint buildup. This feathering step ensures that your cut-in paint won't show as a stripe after you roll paint onto the walls.

10.01.2022 Who needs primer if you're putting up two finish coats? Priming ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface, increases paint durability, and provides additional protection for the material being painted. If you plan on doing your own painting, remember to prime all new substrates and patches to avoid delamination in a few years time. It will also give you a better finish with an even sheen across the entire surface.
10.01.2022 A focal point is one of the elements of good landscape design. It adds a pop of interest and uniqueness to a landscape. By adding a splash of colour, you can transform a front gate into an inviting entrance.
09.01.2022 If you're going to do your own painting at home, here's the best tip I can give: Don't cheap out on paint and brushes. Cheap brushes are false economy. Buy a Monarch or something with some heft. That $3 plastic brush is going make it look like you smeared paint on the wall with a rake. And the bristles fall out. I like a nice 75mm oval cutter personally. They flare out for a nice fine and even spread, and they just seem to work wonders getting into corners neatly. Yes they'r...e expensive but you can wash and reuse it until the bristles wear down and then it becomes an external brush and finally a fence brush. And get the expensive paint too. I recommend Taubmans Easy Coat. Why? Because it goes on easy and offers the best coverage. It'll last a long time. You'll be able to wash a grubby fingerprint off the wall without taking the paint with it. And your whole job will just go quicker and easier. Hope this helps and remember to have fun.
07.01.2022 Painting tip: It might seem easy to cut in (brush) all the corners and trim in a room, then go back to roll the walls, but don't. Pro's get a seamless look by cutting in one wall, then immediately rolling it before starting the next. Starting at one corner, roll the full height of the wall across to the other corner.... This allows the brushed and the rolled paint to blend together better. Here in NQ I suggest you also add a paint conditioner like Floetrol to keep a wet edge. Cover your paint pot and brush or roller with a damp rag when switching between brushing and rolling to keep your paint and tools from drying out when not in use. Heres a shopping list to help get you started... - Paint - Paint conditioner - Plastic and canvas drop cloths - Tape - No Gap caulking - Poly Filla - Sanding block - Brushes - Paint tray - Paint roller - Paint roller pole - Step ladder It's also a lot easier to just hire a professional to do it for you.
