25.01.2022 With the store closed, there has been plenty of time to work on project guns. Checkout these before and after photos of the 1st restoration project at Pakenham Firearms. Winchester 1894 in 30/30, made in 1910. Fitted with an in house made reproduction ladder sight.

25.01.2022 Did you know that we can diagnose and solve issues with double guns? Below is the trigger mechanism off a high end side by side shotgun. A Grulla Ducks Unlimited in 28g. This gun presented with two problems. The 1st was that both barrels would sometimes fire together, the other issue was that the 2nd barrel would sometimes not fire at all. The 1st issue was solved rather easily with some careful strokes of a file. The 2nd issue was more complex. In the attached picture you can see that part labelled 2 needs to slide under part labelled 1 to fire the 2nd barrel. However this mechanism uses gravity only which was not enough to ensure engagement. With the help of a custom made screw, a custom spring and a tapped hole, the 2nd barrel now fires reliably every time.

14.01.2022 Covid-19 update: This Thursday the 9th of April will be our last day open as a shopfront until government restrictions are lifted. On Friday our heavily updated website will go live with items for online purchase. We will be offering $5 local delivery (excluding safes) servicing Dandenong to Warragul, Emerald to Lang Lang. Those with a valid Permit to Acquire and have already paid for a firearm can organise to pick it up by emailing [email protected].

11.01.2022 We have received notification that the sale of firearms and ammunition is no longer restricted. The store will therefore reopen as of this Thursday.

07.01.2022 Victoria Police has advised us that the sale of firearms and ammunition for the purposes of target shooting and recreational shooting is currently suspended. Sales of these items can only be for occupational purposes. The sale of accessories, scopes...etc is unaffected.
