24.01.2022 During this COVID crisis, Auslan Australia’s sign language has played a crucial role in getting important information out to those who are hearing impaired.... Today on International Day of Sign Languages, I’d like to say thank you to all our Auslan interpreters for everything you’re doing. To show my support for our deaf community, I’ve had another go at trying #Auslan. I still need more practice but today is all about having a go I’d encourage all Australians to learn some Auslan and give it a try. Thank you also to the Deaf Society and Deaf Services for the great work they do and for organising the Auslan Leaders’ Challenge. #AuslanCommunityLeadersChallenge2020 #InternationalDayofSignLanguages

23.01.2022 Just finished briefing the media on this, but I wanted to share a bit more background and detail so everyone knows what's happening. As you know, last night Sou...th Australia began a six-day lockdown. At the same time, wastewater tests in Benalla and Portland have picked up fragments of the virus. This is concerning as neither of those regions have had a recent confirmed case. We want to protect Victoria's hard-won gains and support SA's limits on movement as they get through this. So here's what we're going to do: From 11.59pm tonight a 'hard border' will be in place for 48 hours. Only freight drivers and those with medical or emergency reasons will be able to pass between our two states during that period. This will give us time to set up a broader permit system linked to South Australia's restrictions. The reasons to cross the border are expected to include emergency services, essential or agricultural work, for medical care or compassionate reasons, or to shop for essential supplies. Permits will be required from 11:59pm on Saturday. Victoria Police will set up road check points similar to when we had travel restrictions in place in Victoria. From today, interstate truck drivers travelling through Victoria from South Australia will be offered extra testing at a site at Nhill on the Western Highway. Testing sites are also being set up at major freight routes. Regional Development Victoria are meeting with local councils today to make sure our border communities have everything they need food, fuel, medical supplies and services. And if you live in Portland or Benalla or visited recently and you have any symptoms at all, please get tested today. You'll need to isolate until you get your results. Don't wait a day. Do it as soon as you can. Hours will be extended at local testing sites, and we'll be boosting capacity to make sure as many people as possible can get in. Nothing about this is easy, and this decision has not been taken lightly. But we can't allow everything we've worked so hard for to be put at risk. To our mates in South Australia we know what you're going through. We send you strength and solidarity. Stay safe.

16.01.2022 ROHINGYA GENOCIDE PROOF (ENGLISH VERSION)

15.01.2022 After a year apart, I know everyone's keen to spend summer together. Down the beach, at the pub, or around the Christmas table with the people we love. And beca...use of the sacrifices we've made, Victorian's can now spend a little more time with friends and family these holidays. From midnight tonight, Victoria will move to 'COVIDSafe Summer', and the changes below will remain in place over the next couple of months. Making things easier for everyone. Density limits for hospitality venues and other venues will halve from one person per 4sqm, to one per 2sqm, and patron limits will no longer be applied. This'll allow nightclubs, restaurants, cafes, bars, cinemas, theatres, and hairdressers to open for more patrons as long as density quotas and specific venue requirements are met. It won't mean every venue can open to every Victorian - but it does mean more venues can can open their doors in time for the new year. Numbers around household gatherings are also increasing from 15 visitors, to 30 visitors including dependents - and up to 100 people can gather outside. Capacity limits on weddings and funerals will go, and the amount of people attending will depend on the density quota of one person per 2sqm. Gyms will be able to open with a density of 1 person per 4sqm, with additional COVIDSafe practices applied. Masks will still remain for now, but they'll only be mandatory when traveling on public transport, inside taxis / ride shares, and in some retail spaces - like supermarkets, shopping centres and indoor markets. The evidence has shown us that wearing a mask makes a big difference in protecting yourself and those around you. Which is why they're still highly recommended in situations where physical distancing isn't possible. So make sure to carry one with you. Workplace restrictions are remaining at up to 25 per cent of a workforce on site - increasing to 50 per cent from 11 January. These changes are about locking in a safe summer, and a safer future for all Victorians. Because we don't just want to enjoy the progress we've made: We want to protect it too.

Everyone, now living in a place where government gives care on the laws and rules in the country. Therefore, everyone should be afraid of breaking law by harassing and beating women. 08.01.2022 I know everyone’s hanging out for this one so I’ll cut to the chase. Victoria will move to the Last Step from 11.59pm tonight. That’ll mean more people can get ...together 15 visitors to your home and 50 outdoors in a public place. Numbers at gyms will increase to 150 with group limits of 20 and venue density limits. Hospitality also increases to 150 inside for larger venues and 50 for smaller ones with density limits based on their size. Up to 150 people can attend weddings and funerals. And the number caps will be increased for other venues community centres, galleries, museums and more. I'll put all the details in the comments. There will be a staged return to offices for staff who've spent the past six+ months in Zoom meetings too with up to 25 per cent able to come back onsite at any one time. Everyone else will need to keep working from home. We’re also changing the rules around masks. They’ll still be mandatory indoors and on PT but you won’t need one outside, so long as you’re able to keep a safe distance from others. To put it into context, that means wearing a mask if you’re at a busy outdoor market or event but not if you’re out walking the dog. You'll need to carry a mask at all times for when it's required. I’m sure some people think everything should be thrown open completely now that we’ve gone three weeks without a case. But that’s precisely the point. We’ve only got to zero cases because of masks and distancing and everyone playing their part. Keeping these protections around a bit longer means that if we were to get a case, the risk of it spreading faster and wider will be much lower. And most Victorians would agree it’s a relatively small imposition for a potentially huge benefit. Just finally, to everyone looking ahead to Christmas and planning how many seats at the lunch table you'll be able to have 30 visitors at home, including kids. We'll have more to say on other settings soon, based on the latest public health advice. This has been a year like no other and one most of us would probably rather forget. Victorians have sacrificed so much and done it so tough. But even in the darkest of winter days, we stuck together and supported each other. And for that I am so grateful and so very proud.

08.01.2022 The prime minister has told the United Nations General Assembly in a virtual address that Australia has pledged to share any breakthroughs made in three local c...oronavirus vaccine trials underway. Prime Minister Scott Morrison also called on other nations in the race for a COVID-19 vaccine to share their discoveries with the globe. "Whoever finds the vaccine must share it. This is a global responsibility, and it's a moral responsibility, for a vaccine to be shared far and wide. If we find the vaccine we will share it. That's the pledge we all must make," Prime Minister Scott Morrison. The PM also reaffirmed Australia’s push for an international investigation into the origins of COVID-19: This virus has inflicted a calamity on our world and its peoples. We must do all we can to understand what happened for no other purpose than to prevent it from happening again. More: 7news.link/30c2WiZ #Coronavirus #7NEWS

04.01.2022 Building a rail link to the airport is something that's been talked about for over 60 years. And it's something that generations of travellers have dreamt about... while stuck in freeway traffic. We've always known that airport rail needed to be as fast, as convenient and as affordable for Victorian families as possible. That's why today we announced that trains to the airport will run through the Metro Tunnel and we'll be providing $5 billion to get the project off the ground. That means if you live on the Pakenham or Cranbourne lines, you'll be able to go straight to the terminal no changes. And nearly everyone else will only have to change trains once - including those coming from regional Victoria. It will mean you can get to the city from Tullamarine in less than 30 minutes. Trains will depart every 10 minutes and drop travellers off exactly where they need to be whether you're here for work, travel or just coming home. But this project isn't just about building the best airport rail for Victoria. It'll create 8,000 local jobs too. All with the tap of a Myki.
