25.01.2022 Following State Government’s announcement of the COVID-19 Recovery Roadmap, staff at Tennis Victoria have been in constant communication with Government to gain... clarity on what the Roadmap means for tennis. We are now able to share the following update: METRO MELBOURNE Stage 4 restrictions have been extended to 28 September 2020. Tennis activity is not permitted during this time. We are advocating hard for a return to play from 28 September, but do not yet have confirmation of this from Government. We will update you as soon as we know more.

15.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we have to press the pause button again on our current programs. I’d like to thank all the exceptional pupils and parents who have... supported our private lesson program over the past three weeks. The enthusiasm of pupils (and coaches) helped us all keep some sanity in our lives over the past few weeks. The adherence to the new rules during stage 3 allowed us to continue on the courts in a safe and hygienic manner. Unfortunately stage 4 means no tennis for the next 6 weeks We will resume when permitted and when it’s safe to do so but in the meantime please keep healthy and stay home. As much as I hate to admit it, tennis can wait. The health of our community within our great State is the number 1 priority right now. Massive thanks to coaches Francis, Olivia, James & Lachie for your flexibility this year. We will be back!!! Tennis will survive!!!

14.01.2022 To all our members, Good news at last with tennis allowed to be played in limited capacity. Paul our coach has resumed paired back coaching services in line with strict guidelines. Our priority continues to be his coaching services. This will mean in the week starting 19/10/20 that very limited play will be available to our members due to a maximum of ten participants allowed in our venues at any one time. This will mean approaching Paul (at a safe distance) and asking him o...f his numbers on court if you are intending to use the courts. This will be implemented until the 26/10/20 when we may have further restrictions removed. Courts will also not be available for public hire. They will only be available for current members. Should the courts be in use and you are unsure of whether your attendance will exceed the allowed numbers then do not enter the venue until you feel it safe to do so. There are a few simple rules we all need to be aware during this week. There is a maximum of 10 people allowed in the grounds at any one time. No more than 2 households are allowed to play on the same court. Keep more than 1.5 metres apart. You must be within the 25km’s distance from home. Observe all signs, cleaning instructions and sanitation. Utilise the QR code to register your attendance Please be aware this is a non-monitored venue and is maintained by volunteers who are otherwise at work during normal hours. We ask that you respect our club policies in this time of uncertainty. If you have any questions regarding having an organised hit this week please do not hesitate to ring Greg who will do his best to answer your call. We have been locked down for a long period of time and we are all very keen to get back to the things we love the best. Please respect our coach and his welfare for the benefit of the club as we continue to try a better way for all of us to enjoy our tennis. Kind regards Greg, Ged, Fiona and Ann PTC Exec

12.01.2022 To all our amazing Mothers Happy Mother’s Day

12.01.2022 Following the State Government's decision to lockdown all of the Melbourne Metropolitan areas and the Mitchell Shire, competition tennis is now 'out' for us all.... Community competition tennis is cancelled until further notice however, outdoor courts may remain open for LIMITED casual play consisting of members of the same household or for 2 people from different households. Coaching for members of the same household or one to one coaching can also continue. Your local council may also have additional restrictions but thankfully this time, we can continue to play in a safe manner. Waverley Tennis recommends that the Tennis Victoria website be regularly checked for further updates. Waverley Tennis regrets the sorry state that tennis finds itself in within the Melbourne Metropolitan areas due to COVID-19. Waverley Tennis President, Mark Collins, and Van Placidi, Secretary, wish to thank all Affiliates, and their junior and senior convenors for their patience, cooperation and time spent in submitting and reviewing team selections and player availabilities in hope and anticipation of the launch of a shortened Winter Season 2020 planned to start on the weekend after next. Also much credit must go to the Waverley Tennis Match Committee personnel of Trevor Smyth, Ian Chanter, David Kimberley, Margaret Quigley, Tina Feely and Marcos Ahumada for their combined dedicated efforts with the draw in an endeavour to get us all back competing on the courts for a Winter Season. Stay safe all
