23.01.2022 Our customers 1972 Plymouth Road Runner! Not too many of these around and definitely not something youd see everyday! Our customer brought this in to Palace Automotive... Typical rough American paint job and repairs from back in the day and also included a rusty roof courtesy of a past vinyl roof. We performed an exterior overhaul of this Plymouth, all removable parts removed as per photos to help with easy access to any areas requiring rust repairs. Crows feet, blistering filler work & misaligned panels were just the tip of the iceberg. Car was painted in a DeBeer Refinish base coat & Glasurit ceramic clear - we are proud of the result we got, keep an eye out for it on the road

20.01.2022 One of our customers wanted to build up an XD group C replica race car and he approached us would we be interested if he found the right car - well he found a car in Benella Victoria which with his help we went to Benella and picked it up out of a paddock. We towed it back to his house where he dismantled the vehicle and told us what he wanted to do with the car in more detail. This car will be a replica of the Grant & Seldon #27 Tru-Blu XD Falcon that Dick Johnson once r...aced. & this is where the story starts.. Work carried out: - Modified the engine bay to fit a Ford barra turbo - Modified rear wheel arches to group C spec - Modifed transmission tunnel to fit 5spd gearbox - Modified radiator support panel - Modified bonnet support frames - Repaired back beaver panel - Replaced taillight panel - Modified boot floor for drop tank - Modified front guards to group C spec - Body kit supplied by Peter @spoilertechqld - Car was sandblasted & apoxy coated - Repaired where needed & re-apoxy - Sections of body painted to allow re-assembly of engine bay & cabin Follow the page to keep up-to date with the build as it progresses!

With the quality of the car lacking severely when it arrived due to poor previous repairs, there was plenty of work to do to get this example back to its glory days. During its time at Palace Automotive, this Landau received the following work; - Front end disassembled. Grill and headlight covers repaired and resprayed. - Radiator support blacked out. - Bonnet removed, repaired and insi...de resprayed with a textured coat applied. - Boot lid removed, repaired and painted inside. - Vinyl roof mouldings removed and resprayed. - Gold/ anodised accents (Bonnet latch, both door latches and headlight cover rods) - Channels in engine bay and boot area repaired and resprayed. - Door jams and inner door panels repaired and resprayed. - Steering wheel horn pad supplied and fitted. - Front and rear bars repaired & re-chromed. - Boot re-trimmed, inner quarters blacked out. - Supplied and fitted body length Pinstripe. Currently waiting for roll cage to be installed by Brown Davis before we can go any further. 08.01.2022 WHAT. AN. EVENT. This past weekend we headed to Bathurst NSW for the 2017 Hardtop Anniversary. Not only was the weekend fantastic, it also allowed for a great road trip up to Bathurst. The whole Bathurst Events Committee put long hours & effort to make this great weekend possible. Further, to their partners & families helping wherever they could, keep in mind, even though they organised the Hardtop Anniversary, they all still paid entrance fees, motel rooms, etc & still made... sure the event went as smooth as possible. Some things out of our control didnt go quite to plan, but overall, WHAT A WEEKEND!!! However, To us it was even more special with 2 of our customers coming first place in their respective classes. With over 100 Coupes on display, we were pleasantly surprised to hear that 2 winners were both coupes we had restored here at Palace Automotive. Congratulations to Mario and Josie for there Pine Lime XC Bill for taking out best presented XC Coupe & to Phil & Yvette for bringing home the Best presented XA GT with their White on black XA GT R.P.O. Always great to see hard work paying off, all the long nights and hours spent, the results of this weekend proved to be all worth it and more! Congratulations to all the other winners and their cars. Heres a look into whats currently going on at Palace Automotive - Beige Ford Landau ready to go ... - XA GT bare metal & epoxied - XC Cobra bare metal & epoxied - MG has been epoxied, repaired, highfilled & is now ready to be blocked a final time before being painted - Pepper Red XB came in for a cosmetic clean up & now ready to go... Awesome car - XC Rally Pack wagon also in for a few cosmetic repairs, one of the most original wagons that weve had here in a very long time! Whole car is in original paint, minus the driver side front guard typical country car stone chips EVERYWHERE but no rust on the vehicle although chipping starting to oxidise
