24.01.2022 Not many can say that their 2nd, 70.3 race is competing at the World Championships in Chattanooga!!! Your one amazing woman Dee!!! You are a super busy Mum and wife and you have tackled the lead up to this race with grace and courage. Your daughters must be so proud of you!!! We are all so proud of you. You are a pleasure to coach. You listen, learn and trust in my guidance. Thank you for your faith in me. ... You are one of the top ranking females in the world for this distance and that in itself is incredible. It's not until you race a World Championship that you experience just how much self belief and mental strength is requires to cross the finish line with the best in the world surrounding you. A World Championship course is deliberately set to show the weakness in those who have not covered all aspects of their training. I can confidently say that you tackled this course perfectly and your hard work over the past 7 months shone bright. 16.01.2022 So I spent my day doing Cairns Half Ironman today...was amazing. Weather held out for us (no rain and a nice overcast run) I did what I never thought was possib...le with a very bad lead in.. virtually no running for the last 6 months and very little swimming.. and somehow managed a personal best for this race of 5hrs 47mins.. had a great swim and fantastic bike where I averaged almost 33km per hour. Held up for the 21km run at the end with a respectable 2hrs 19mins...well under my expectations .. Thanks to all those that have supported me and trained with me.. could not have done it without each and every one if you and my coach Ryan Palazzi and his amazing wife Katie Palazzi.. your belief in my abilities never wavered..
