25.01.2022 Hi everyone, with less than 24 hours to go before the Come Paleo With Me Challenge officially starts its time to get excited! Hopefully everyone has gotten their preparations sorted and initial weigh-in and bloodwork finalised, or plan to soon. Here is an overview of the recipes and guide to week one of the challenge. The full recipes and shopping lists will be posted in the private Come Paleo With Me group (available under the community section) as well as the website. The private group is where you will be able to share and discuss your progress in a more private environment.
25.01.2022 We've officially opened at our new location. It's been busy and patients have been applauding the new move to functional medicine. May people however have been asking what functional medicine is...the simple answer is ...we look at EVERYTHING else that can be causing your problem, BEFORE we reach for a pill. Many illnesses that patients accept as inevitable are lifestyle diseases, related to poor sleep, poor food quality, poor tooth care, sick gut, too much antibiotics, stre...ss in life (work, kids, partner, self). We are the most unhealthy we've ever been in the world despite all the advances in technology, medicine and science simply because the more we are able to do, the more we abuse ourselves. This is taking a toll on our lives and this toll which evidences as disease, is why so many people are on medications. Think of the chronic headache you get, the inability to fall asleep, the grumbly belly, the fatigue, the bad periods, the low libido, the hairloss, the dry flaky skin/hair/nails...These all are abnormal and point to cortisol dysregulation, gut dysbiosis, gluten intolerance and more. What functional medicine does, is look for the underlying cause of the presenting problem and use supplements, behavioral changes, diet changes and more to help you get better. Does that mean disease will never come, no, we just figure out ways to minimize your propensity to disease and augment your body's ability to heal using now forgotten techniques that we have had for years. Why take glucosamine and chondroitin if bone broth can give you the same nutrient in a better bioavailable form with other necessary nutrients to augment it's absorption. Why take a sleeping pill if meditation, valerian and melatonin will fix the problem naturally. Functional medicine looks for root cause and clears it to help you achieve optimal health. That has always been our goal at AIMHI and we look forward to continuing to work with you towards your health goals. Many people have also asked about cost. Unfortunately, much of what we do is not covered by Medicare. This means we have to change to a private billing model of care. While you may still qualify for some rebates from Medicare, you will have to cover the costs up-front when you visit us. 15.01.2022 Congrats to all the guys who came for the weigh in. Not amazingly, the standard amount of weight loss appears to be 3kg in the 1 month we've all been doing this. YEEHAA!! Yes, I have lost 3kg also...I'm SOOOOOOO HAPPYYYYYYY!!!!!! One guy wins the TopGun award for this month, having lost a whopping 12kg....OMG!!! For those of you still struggling, on the fence, fearful. Jump in. There is literally nothing to lose but weight. We will work with you to figure out what works or do...esnt work for you, support you through the cravings, figure out how to adjust the diet to what is tasty for you and help you stay on track...no pressure, no fear, just FUN. Tracey and I have added a 20min biking session 3 x a week to our session which is getting a lot easier to do as the month has gone on. Dont forget. Set intentions to progress along the health journey. I'm happy to report that my carb cravings have FINALLY STOPPED. Thank God. Have fun in month 2 and share your journey. We are all struggling and together we'll get there.

11.01.2022 Here is a podcast on gut healing. One of the cornerstone principles of functional medicine is the idea of gut dysbiosis driving inflammation and disease. A key reason for starting Come Paleo with Me was to get my patients thinking about making simple changes to improve their health WITHOUT medication. Here is a podcast that will hopefully help on that journey which starts with nutrition (CPWM) and gut healing. Invite family and friends to listen. Remember it costs nothing and could change a life.

Blood Pressure Height and Weight Mid Arm Circumference Waist Circumference Hip Circumference Mid-Thigh Circumference Skin Thickness 2. Get the following lab tests done: Fasting lipids and Glucose, Hemoglobin A1c, eLFTs 3. Email the results to us at [email protected] so we can record it in your record. 4. Your results will be kept private and confidential as per Australian Privacy standards in the AIMHI medical practice. They will merely be used to track your weight loss to determine the winner at the end of the challenge. You may choose to disclose your results in the group if you choose.
07.01.2022 We have moved...we continue to Paleo on. Just wanted to update the group on happenings at Aimhi. as you all know, we have moved and I'm working from home... I am pretty stoked about this. There has been some confusion however about whether I'm still GPing or not. I still am, I still see patients for regular things and continue to do the same mixed billing you are used to, however, as you guys know, my passion is healing naturally so I'm trying to develop that aspect of the p...ractice which is the functional medicine so I'm only taking NEW functional medicine patients. I still see my old patients but expect me to harangue you about doing things naturally, holistically as that is really why I built this practice. CPWM is part of that cause and why I'm so passionate about it. I believe prevention before disease is the key to our health and I am determined to spread that message as far as I can...Food and Nutrition and lifestyle staves off illness and we need to get that message out.
