25.01.2022 Very pertinent memory - a post I shared 5 years ago - has such relevance today - in this moment.

25.01.2022 Hello from Dr Judith (the Vet) A brief update to advise I will be continuing to assist the residents of Bedfordale, Roleystone, Armadale and surrounding suburbs with veterinary care at the homes of clients, as I have been for the last 20 years. I travel further to other Perth suburbs by appointment especially for assistance with palliative care management, including compassionate euthanasia of pets at home. Despite the challenges of precautions being needed, this is readily... achieved as a mobile vet, as close contact with humans is less important than the contact with the animal patient. As much as I love to hug the people I meet during my vet visits, I restrain this for the sake of social distancing and responsible consideration for the health and wellbeing of the community. Vet visits can be easily conducted outside and modifications for treatment can be discussed and decided at the time of booking the consultation (best to text 0433213728) or at the time of my visit. Although a strong focus of my veterinary services is palliative care of dogs and cats, Quality of life assessments and compassionate euthanasia of pets, I also readily visit for other veterinary services to determine and provide appropriate treatment for abcesses, eye and ear conditions, arthritis, lameness, skin allergies, etc. Microchipping and vaccinations also available at your home. During these times of stress and anxiety, I wish you all peace and calm to assist your immune system to be the most resilient it can be. This too shall pass ......with better outcomes if we all look out for each other with compassion and understanding. See more

25.01.2022 Ok so when friends ask me how do I do the work I do as a vet, performing compassionate euthanasia of much loved pets at their homes, they recognise that this is... much harder and more personal at someone's home. This is true but I found when I was in private practice at a clinic, there was less opportunity to help the owners in the way I can now - this is the work I am called to do - professional and emotional support of the owners as well as for their pets. My logo of "compassionate convenient care of your pet at home" means that I can care for animals in my own way and there are definitely personal methods in my way. I take special crystals with me to bring through a channel for healing and strength to amplify my own energy and intentions. Prayers are a key part of my preparation - I pray always to the "Sacred heart of Jesus - I place my trust in you" and to St Francis - the patron saint of animals. When possible I ask for your support as friends via FB, to share this work with me by your prayers and good thoughts for the animal and the family - I deeply believe and feel this connection when I need it - thank you so much xx I ask my precious spirit dog of my heart,Amy to be with me and the animal I am helping - nothing more certain in my mind that she is there and I have felt her with me many times. My other spirit animals to guide me are the tiger and the eagle - the tiger is the spirit animal of raw feelings and emotions, helping with personal strength and courage. The eagle brings vision and clarity - to see our arrow of purpose and to trust our higher self. Some of these elements have been incorporated into a beautiful design by Laura Bird, symbolising my purpose, my passion and my firm belief that this special work comes from the depths of my heart to bring through love and healing, to release animals peacefully to Rainbow bridge See more

23.01.2022 A little off topic but I believe since taking my dogs off kibble 4 years ago they are much healthier. Worth the time to read.

22.01.2022 A friend came for a shamanic reiki session yesterday - it was fun and just so in tune with how I'm feeling guided to combine reiki and shamanism. We had met las...t year during shamanic practitioner training - it is so good now to continue our connection as friends giving and receiving our own style of bringing nature and spiritual work together. I believe that every experience we have had, whether we judge it as good or bad, has been another step on our spiritual journey - it brings value and wisdom. My friend was very encouraging with my decision to provide Shamanic Reiki and Soul Therapy - she had been telling me for most of last year - you need to be offering yr services to people. The energy work is not a quick fix to change physical and emotional symptoms that keep us stuck - it opens up the path for moving forward and finding new aspects of ourself which need attention. I find this is often the case with animal patients too - a prescription for drugs is often a short term solution but it generally doesn't change the underlying source of pain or the pattern which contributed to the stagnation causing pain and disease. Sometimes we can just shift our focus - look out and see a new direction calling See more

20.01.2022 When I help animals to pass at home, it is always fascinating and very touching to see how other animals react when I arrive, how they want to be reassured and ...know that everything is ok - even tho they know I'm coming to help them - when possible I send a message telepathically to the animals to let them know The reactions from the people are so intense - their grief so tangible - it is an honour as a vet to be a part of such touching moments Always reminded of my precious girl Amy and how I felt the day I helped her to pass - always so grateful every time I can help the animals and support their humans - I can't share the details of each family situation but I'd love to help people understand - with the right support professionally and emotionally - you can face this dreaded event See more

13.01.2022 On this day, 28th November 1985, 35 years ago !!!!, I graduated from Murdoch University Veterinary school. This morning I visited a new patient and I received... confirmation yet again, that so much of my work with being a vet, is about helping the people. I have a tendency to bring out tears, and bring forward difficult conversations with the family, as we work out what the patient wants. Today the patient needed support for his Dad and I feel the gratitude yet again for the deep level of connection in the intimacy and vulnerability people share with me. I feel very blessed and honoured - deep gratitude for the huge opportunity and privilege to be offered a place at the vet school in 1978 - third year of intake to MUVS. Such a big goal for a country girl from a small town to aspire to be a vet from the age of 10 - much more male dominated profession way back then. My deepest thanks to my Mum and Dad for their sacrifices so their 4 daughters could receive a good education and to my sisters Bryanne and Gillian for making the change from boarding school in Albany to come to Perth for the subjects I needed for the vet school. I remember this often and I thank you My deep gratitude for all the beautiful special people who have trusted me to help their animals often in very sad times - you help me be the vet I want to be And I rejoice in the happy times - such a wonderful spectrum of emotions, profoundly opened in peoples homes as we share the highs and lows See more

12.01.2022 Treating a very large Great Dane patient this evening - very interesting case - beautiful dog. Fascinating reaction to my first "energetic moves" - suddenly lay... flat out on the floor. Interesting possibilities for treatment options - will be "working it out" as we go along - seeking input from the patient. Apparently very reactive abt needles given by other vets, but handled a couple of acupuncture needles really well See more

11.01.2022 Look at our happy 12 and a half yr old dog with her bouncy trot. She's chasing sticks again after a year of losing interest. Thankyou Judith Congrene our fabulo...us vet . Couldn't keep her eyes open - haha under the magic acupuncture spell my darling girl. No snorting or dramatic Arabian antics - lots of licking and chewing in between snoozes See more

01.01.2022 My Ode to Amy (written by Judith Congrene 14.2.12) Darling sweet Amy joy of my heart With me each morning as the day starts Lovingly beside me until the n...ight ends my special companion and wonderful friend. The sadness is shattering, the pain is real I grieve for your presence and the love that I feel I sit by your graveside missing your warmth and devotion My head is in shock, my heart in emotion. Emptiness fills me but I thank God for this day The hours shared together as beside you I lay. My arms wrapped around you in a loving embrace The special pink LOVE teddy bear close by your face The space in my heart will always be yours, I watched you slip away calmly whilst holding your paws. I have helped many animals to Rainbow Bridge Who knows if you will meet them and what you will say I think of you smiling and happy each day I know you are at your peace and Im relieved for the gentle passing to be free at Rainbow Bridge where we will meet again. Until then, dear Amy whenever that may be, I count all my blessings for the privilege that 15 years ago, you chose me. The words flow freely and so do my tears Its so hard to lose you after so many years. I feel comfort visiting you, sipping my tea Another early morning in your company Sadly the midnight visit to the horses without you along Reminds me precious puppy I have to be strong See more

01.01.2022 I have been trying to upload this little video to share the AA's cruisy snooze during her acupuncture session this morning - this is what 2 tiny needles did to her :)
