24.01.2022 Happy New Year from Palmerston Power - looking forward to another great year of basketball! GO POWER!

24.01.2022 Top End Premier League Basketball DBA Friday Night!... Court 1 tonight will be taken over by our women’s competition to start the night off. The Cannons will be taking on Ansett in a very interesting ladder changing game. Both teams sit on 17 competition points along with Uni Rebels and being halfway through the season, could be a deciding game later on down the line. Both Cannons and Ansett have some very talented guards that are not only offensively gifted, but bring it on the defensive end as well. These two squads also have some solid players inside to anchor their defences and take care of the rebounding responsibilities. A very even match up on papers, so no doubt a very good watch. On Court 2 our men’s competition will kick off the night with an Eagles and Palmerston clash that has some big ladder implications as well. Eagles are coming off quite the stunner knocking off top rated Ansett last week in a very one-sided manner. An opportunity tonight to build on that and stay in the race for a top 2 finish. Palmerston hasn’t seen its best games against the top of the table, but the last time they met with Eagles it came down to a last second buzzer in the Power loss. Redemption is on the mind of the Palmerston men and what a great opportunity to continue progress with the season. The last time these two met it was a thriller, so you know tonight won’t be any different. Following the men on Court 2, the Lightning women will take on the ladies from the Uni Rebels club. Lightning have had a rocky season to say the least, but still sit alone in that number 2 spot on the ladder. Injuries and other commitments have forced the Lightning side to play with limited players each week, but you better believe when they all take the court, it is a sight to see. Tonight, they will need a big effort with a motived Rebels side keen to take a spot in the top 4 with a win. Rebels sit in that bubble with Cannons and Ansett on 17 competition points and an opportunity to overtake one if they find a way to get a win tonight. One team desperate to get back to their championship form and a young motived side ready to make a real name for themselves. Stay locked in! Our final game on Court 1 has the men’s competitions Cannons taking on Lightning in another significant ladder impacting game. Lightning did finally crack that win column last week in defeating Uni Rebels in a double-digit winning effort. A new piece to the Lightning side helped their backcourt and playmaking. Cannons will definitely take this Lightning squad serious and need to, so they remain in the conversation for the top 4. Getting a very close win over Ellas Titans last week, Cannons need to keep this winning train moving. Two very opposite teams with some good backcourt mates that could prove to be a very interesting watch tonight. Keep in mind we love to keep you up to date, so stay connected with Live Stats. Just tap the link and follow along! https://darwin.basketball/league-stats/live-stats/ #DBA

21.01.2022 As part of their participation in this weeks Indigenous Round the Power League Men had a presentation last night from Timmy Duggan. Timmy was the only indigenous player to play in the National Basketball League in the 1990s. Since his retirement he founded Hoops 4 Health AUS and maintains an active involvement in basketball. Timmy spoke about his journey and the work that commenced and continues to increase participation and pathways at all levels. It was a fantastic opportu...nity for the players to learn more about the history of the game and the significance of the week. The League Men play Lightning tonight at 8.30 pm and are proud to be part of this round. The uniform they will wear was designed by the players and incorporates the artwork of Darlene Devery from Darls Arts. The symbols on the uniforms reflect family’s and people’s connection made through basketball.
