Our Registered nurse/midwife will work in collaboration with your GP to provide continuity of care for you and your baby throughout your pregnancy and beyond. You can see the midwife to discuss your options of pregnancy care in Darwin and Palmerston regions from the start of your pregnancy. Our midwife will provide you with early pregnancy information and refer your ongoing care to Royal Darwin Hospital.... If you choose to, it is possible to continue having antenatal shared care with the GP and midwife, alongside routine appointments at Royal Darwin Hospital at 16, 36 and 40 weeks of pregnancy. The midwife is also available to provide Fluvax and Whooping Cough immunisation during pregnancy and can provide postnatal care and support for mothers and babies. This option allows you to see the same midwife both throughout and following your pregnancy If you would like to access our midwife please ask the friendly reception team for an initial consultation with our midwife, followed by a GP review!
