11.01.2022 The number of stray cats seen at Palmerston Veterinary Hospital has again increased significantly over the past year. With the rescue groups at maximum capacity, the options for these little ones are becoming significantly less. It is for this reason, we encourage you to desex your pet and stop this cycle. For the month of July we are offering 10% off feline desexings for both male and female cats. Please call the clinic for bookings and enquires on 8932 2344.

09.01.2022 Dear customers, we are currently having issues where telstra phones cannot call us. Optus and Vodafone phones are not effected. If you cannot get through please contact us via our website. We are able to make outgoing calls to Telstra phones so we can call you back.

09.01.2022 All jokes aside, desexing your furry friend is a very important part of responsible pet ownership and for the month of July we are offering 10% off Gold Standard canine desexings. What does Gold Standard mean? Your pet will receive a pre-anaesthetic blood test to ensure he or she is healthy enough to proceed with their desexing procedure. This will check for underlying infection, clotting issues and anaemia. They will also receive intravenous fluid therapy (which is the equi...valent of a drip for humans) for the duration of their procedure to ensure they are hydrated and replace any fluids lost during their desexing. As per normal- post operative rechecks and sutures out are included. The addition of blood testing and fluids will ensure the safest anaesthetic possible for your pet. If you have any enquires or would like to make a booking- please contact the clinic on 8932 2344.

04.01.2022 INFECTIOUS DISEASE ALERT! Sadly it appears ‘parvo season’ is upon us already. Parvovirus is a highly infectious yet preventable disease transmitted from infected dogs via the environment. Common symptoms include vomiting, inappetence, lethargy and bloody diarrhoea. Young puppies are most susceptible with a high incidence of fatality. ... Hot spots which have been identified include Moulden, Woodroffe and Gray. A simple vaccination is available to prevent this disease. Puppies will need a course of vaccinations to be fully protected so please don't walk them outside the yard until finished. If you are located within the hotspots listed above, please take extra care if you have not been in your property for longer than 2 years. If you are unsure of your dogs vaccination status, simply wish to book an appointment or have any questions regarding the safety of your pet; please call the clinic 8932 2344.
