21.01.2022 WHEN YOU CAN SEE THE 'SUPER FLOWER BLOOD MOON ECLIPSE' A supermoon lunar eclipse will be passing over our skies this Wednesday night, with all of Australia in p...rime position to see the natural marvel - clouds permitting. This will be the only total lunar eclipse and the second supermoon of 2021. An eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, casting a shadow on our lunar neighbour. The moon will generally turn red during a total lunar eclipse because when the sun's light bends around Earth, our atmosphere filters out blue and green colours. A supermoon occurs when the moon is at its closest point to Earth in its orbit, usually around 363,396km. The eclipse is safe to watch with the naked eye but you may need a camera with a good lens to get an Instagram-worthy photo.

13.01.2022 ALL of Australia - 26th May 2021 Total Lunar Eclipse (Blood Moon). At this stage the partial eclipse will last 3 hours with full eclipse lasting 14 minutes. It'...s a great viewing time too! EG: Brisbane / Eastern Aust the partial starts at 7:44pm with a maximum eclipse at 9:18pm. Of course we will see nothing if there is too much cloud.. Cloud cover maps will be provided to HSC supporters & premium members on days 3, 2 and 1 of the event.
