19.01.2022 Notifying the RFS of your upcoming burn plans is now made easier with an online option. The Bega Fire Control Centre will still take your calls but now you can be prepared in advance. The same rules apply with 24hrs notice to the RFS and your neighbours.

18.01.2022 HEATWAVE CONDITIONS FOR NEXT 5 DAYS - Bureau of Meteorology Much of NSW, especially the southern parts should prepare for heatwave conditions with hot day...s and warm nights persisting through until Wednesday, next week. Extreme heatwave conditions are expected for the southeast districts. Heatwave intensity; LOW INTENSITY: Most people are expected to have adequate capacity to cope with this level of heat. SEVERE: Will be challenging for some more vulnerable people, such as those over 65, pregnant women, babies and young children, and those with chronic illness. EXTREME: Will impact normally reliable infrastructure, such as power and transport. Extreme heatwaves are a risk for anyone who does not take precautions to keep cool, even those who are healthy. For tips on preparing for heatwaves, visit https://bit.ly/3bXDLqZ. www.nswincidentalerts.com

18.01.2022 Our shed doors will be open Sunday 20th 10am-2pm and our brigade members will be there to help with your questions. Due to Covid restrictions, we will not be able to include all the fun we would normally have for the kids but this is a great opportunity for you to ask how you can prepare your property for this years bushfire season. Have a plan, be prepared and be safe. ... We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

17.01.2022 Listen out for the HoHoHo, Fire Truck Sirens and Christmas Carol's as Santa visits Pambula, Pambula Beach and South Pambula tomorrow afternoon. We will begin our trip at Pambula Beach at approximately 3pm. Please remember to keeps the kids well back from the trucks, our elves have pretty good arms from all the hose bowling, it comes in handy for throwing lollies

16.01.2022 As most are aware, permits are now required for all fires (except cooking and heating fires). Please be aware that burning should be an absolute last resort and... owners should consider using green waste bins or taking waste to the tip before burning. Permit issuing is an extra task for our already busy volunteers. In addition to having a permit, you must still notify the NSW RFS atleast one business day (24hrs) in advance of lighting up, therefore permits should be obtained well in advance. Piles should not be any larger than a cubic metre in size unless there is machines etc on site. Key points: - permits must be obtained in advance (permits for the weekend cannot be obtained on Friday before. - permit holders must still notify the RFS atleast one business day prior to lighting up (and after a permit issued). - permits will only be issued for piles of 1m2 - burning should be an absolute LAST RESORT. We thank you for your support.

Then Covid hit, so trying to organise a photo was a little harder. This weekend we grabbed the chance to get a pic while social distancing and feeling the rain on our faces. Thank you to our local community for your continued support to our brigade.

07.01.2022 Over the weekend, some of our members were awarded The NSW Premier's Bushfire Emergency Citation. This award was issued by the Premier of New South Wales for emergency service in the 201920 Australian bushfire season in New South Wales. Congratulations to all recipients and welcome to all our new members that have joined this year.
