25.01.2022 "Solastalgia" @ Pamela Pauline Coined by philosopher Glenn Albrecht, the world "Solastalgia" describes the "feeling of distress associated with environmental change close to home". This is my emotional response to our loss of biodiversity. My way of coping with this is to create artworks of beauty from live collections of threatened species. Because they are still living, there is still hope. I am continually inspired by those working relentlessly to find approaches and implementation methods to retain and recover threatened species. This artwork "Solastalgia" features the endangered Forest Red Tail Black Cockatoo and the Regent Parrot along with 35 vulnerable and endangered flora species from throughout Australia. For more information about this artwork, send me a message.

23.01.2022 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda Having the opportunity to witness Gorillas in the wild is an extraordinary experience, an hour of wonderment and awe. At the same time, investing in a visit to Central Africa to see these primates contributes greatly to conservation efforts. In August this year, we visited Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda in the hope of finding these incredible apes. The experience exceeded all expectations. 19.01.2022 My love affair with Native Australian Flora and Fauna continues with new work to be launched at Denfair in Melbourne next month. As Australia's leading destination for contemporary design, I am looking forward to sharing my work and collaborating with others in the industry. "Floral Forest" makes up part of my new series..at 3 metres wide, these oversized florals make a statement. "Floral Forest" @ Pamela Pauline

13.01.2022 So the countdown is on now for "The Other Art Fair" in Sydney, starting on Thursday next week, 14 March and going through the weekend. 11.01.2022 Happy New Year and thank you for all of your wonderful support. As this year begins, I continue to work on my Native Australian Flora and Fauna series and have been particularly moved by the beauty of the "Flannel Flower" and the "Paper Daisy". Both are native to Australia, and seem to just get more beautiful with age..I am working on a series of large artworks to be exhibited at "The Other Art Fair" in Sydney in March. Would love to see you there but in the meantime, here is a sneak peak...

10.01.2022 "Entwined" @ Pamela Pauline "Entwined" is my first artwork in a new series that I am creating entitled "Bush Tapestry". The Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPA) were held this past weekend in Sydney. I was really pleased to receive a Gold Award for this image. I also received a second Gold for "Beaks and Blooms" and then two Silver Distinctions for my Brolgas and the Flannel Fairies in the Illustrative category. I was seriously inspired by the calibre of the... entries. So much hard work, heart and soul was on display. I was honoured to have my work hung alongside some of this incredible talent. Being judged by your peers for work that is often very personal can be really challenging, sometimes even soul destroying. While I was pleased with my results, I know that it isn't a perfect system. Despite the inevitable highs and lows, I always come away inspired to continue creating. See more

10.01.2022 "On the Brink" @ Pamela Pauline This photographic artwork is comprised entirely of Australian rare, vulnerable or endangered species. While they don't garner the same media attention as their fauna friends, nearly 75% of Australia's endangered species are actually plants. My new series entitled "Bush Tapestries - Hanging by a Thread" co-opts into artworks photographs taken by me in the past year of these imperilled flora and fauna. In an effort to both document and help p...rotect these living collections, this series is a reminder of Australia's highly unique ecosystem. This piece has been selected as a Finalist in the Ravenswood Australian Women's Art Prize as well as the Stanthorpe Art Prize and was a Finalist in the Silver Linings Photography Awards. Let me know if you would like to be on the mailing list for upcoming exhibitions.

10.01.2022 Wishing all of my friends, clients and colleagues a wonderful festive season and a safe, Happy New Year. I created this wreath from photographs I have taken in the past month of endangered Australian flora and fauna, including the Forest Red Tail Black Cockatoo and the Carnaby's Cockatoo. My wish is that 2020 will be the year that EVERYONE takes positive action to help in conservation efforts across the globe..

09.01.2022 The images below form part of my latest body of work entitled "Bush Tapestries - Hanging by a Thread", and are composed entirely of vulnerable and endangered Australian Flora and Fauna. Passionate about the message, I am pleased to have them selected as Finalists in the Illustrative Category of the AIPP Silver Linings Awards. There were so many outstanding images in all of the categories...Congratulations to every single photographer that entered and supported these awards, and my heartfelt thanks to all those working behind the scenes to bring these positive and inspirational awards to fruition. To see the pool of incredible talent, please visit: https://aippawards.com.au/silverlining/. Update: I was pleased to win 5th place in the Illustrative Category for "Carnaby's Collective".

08.01.2022 "Hope" @ Pamela Pauline 2020 The future, good or ill, was not forgotten, but ceased to have any power over the present. Health and hope grew strong in them, and they were content with each good day as it came, taking pleasure in every meal, and in every word and song. J.R.R. Tolkien

07.01.2022 Cockatoo Courting @ Pamela Pauline In the words of William Morris "The true secret to happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life'... By creating surface designs, I bring the outdoors inside. These artworks are 100% photographic, using elements from images taken solely by me. Contact me if you would like to discuss bespoke wallpaper or textiles for your next fun project.

07.01.2022 "Still Life Bound" @ Pamela Pauline Still Life Bound combines the symbolism and allegory of 17th century Still Life with modern photographic techniques to form a contemporary narrative. By composing this large bouquet of over 50 (photographs of living) Australian endangered, vulnerable or rare plant species along with the critically endangered Orange Bellied Parrot, this photographic artwork illustrates the extent to which Australia’s biodiversity is threatened. For more information about this piece and upcoming exhibitions, send me a message.

04.01.2022 "Flannel Fairies too" by Pamela Pauline 2019 Last weekend, the print awards were held for the NSW chapter of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. I was thrilled to be named the "NSW Illustrative Photographer of the Year 2019". A huge congratulations to the other Finalists in this category, Naomi Reiter and Charles McKean. These awards come together through the dedication and hard work of the board, the council, the volunteers, print handlers, judges, spon...sors and more.. Special thanks must go to Marina Zivkovic, Matthew Vascilescu and Naomi Reiter along with Sue Lewis and Carla Mahony who all worked tirelessly to ensure the weekend went without a hitch and that highest photographic standards were met. Here is one of my images from the winning portfolio...a little imagination can go a long way!

03.01.2022 High Plains The harsh beauty of the high plains and the even higher mountains in Winter always moves me. This particular image is from Northern Wyoming in the USA. I was pleased to learn that this image entitled "High Plains" won a Gold Award at the Australian Professional Photography Awards last weekend in Melbourne.

03.01.2022 Flannel Fairies @ Pamela Pauline Artwork doesn't always have to fit within a frame...sometimes bigger is simply better! Celebrating the colours and textures of the Australian Landscape by bringing nature indoors gives a space a whole new life. ... If you happen to be in Melbourne over the weekend of June 20-22, drop into Denfair. I will be at Stand 106 and would be delighted to talk to you about large scale art.
