25.01.2022 The damage from the catastrophic bushfires in the Adelaide Hills is worse than first thought. If you want to help, but like me feel far away, then buy Adelaide hills wine!! Support the local businesses and vineyards that have been devastated by last Friday’s bushfires. 72 homes have been lost.... Over 400 structures destroyed. 227 vehicles destroyed. One death, several dozen injured. 25,000 hectares burnt. Around 300 firefighters still working on the ground. Many homes without power still. Wine grape growers have been most affected by the fire, followed by apple and pear growers. Tilbrook Wines has been destroyed while Golding Wines, Barristers Block, Simon Tolley Wines and others have had significant damage. Livestock and crop damage still to be determined. Local businesses have suffered the loss of produce from power outages and had closures, therefore have had trading lost during a usually busy period, which will take time to recover from. If your buying wine anyway...do a good thing and look at where it's from. If you need it ijn a hurry purchase from their stockists but if not buy directly from the wineries websites

11.01.2022 It's been a bit quiet on here. But out there has been anything but quiet. In the 14 years of being an Emergency Nurse, I have never experienced anything like these current Covid times. The emotional, mental and physical toll it has taken on all of us is just something I have never experienced. Working extra shifts and over time leaves us exhausted. Greatful we have a job and can help sick people...but still exhausted. I have really struggled to put any time into Pampered by... Plants. The minimal days off I have, I am desperate to spend one on one with my kids...or am home schooling. Watching peoples skin change (not for the better) due to wearing masks for hours on end and then having a few Nurses use my products and see a dramatic change in their contact dermatitis, has given me the kick up the butt I've needed to get Pampered by Plants back in full swing. There may be slight delays in getting products in the mail so please touch base if you need anything by a certain date. This current climate is hard for everyone (especially us Victorians with yesterday's news). You never know what people have going on behind closed doors. Be kind. Be patient. 07.01.2022 While our supermarket shelves are depleted of toilet paper, tissues, nappies and flour the other highly sought after product currently unavailable is hand sanitiser. I have been inundated with people asking me to make them sanitiser, in which I have been politely refusing to do due to the fact that I am not willing to make claims that an untested product will kill bacteria, germs and dare I say it....covid 19 There are a riduliculous amount of small businesses making h...and sanitisers with simply water and essential oils (and occasionally adding some other questionable ingredients) claiming they will kill a high percentage of germs and bacteria. This is simply untrue. Do not waste your money on anything with less than 70% alcohol. WHO have released this formula for those wanting to make their own products. Is it natural? No. Does it contain chemicals? Yes. Is it effective? I have no doubt. Are there natural alternatives? Absolutely! BUT these are not the DIY/untested products. Most of these are sold out everywhere. Check your local health stores, ask them to put one aside when the next order arrives. I heard @ecopactgroceries in Footscray will be getting santiser in bulk soon enough to refill your bottles. In the meantime, if you dont want to make or use a product with chemicals.. just wash your hands with good old soap and water. Keep your hands away from your face. And stop buying bloody toilet paper

06.01.2022 Driving to work last week listening to Fifi, Fev and Byron on the radio, I was surprised to hear that the segment 'Are you smarter than' is potentially being sacked by the big boss Amanda I can tell you driving an hour on a boring HWY between 6 and 7 am..this is by far my favorite part of the trip! Fifi, Fev and Byron were not ready to call it quits so they continued to play. The issue being they were out of prizes. So...I called in an offered a gift pack to help keep the ...game going!
