16.01.2022 Jesse working her guns doing some reformer bicep curls. Reason #10567 why I love the reformer. EVERYTHING can be modified, progressed and adapted to suit everybody. Upper body work can be done laying, using the box, kneeling, or even standing on the reformer. All different in many ways, and all bloody hard in their own ways...but in the best way possible!



15.01.2022 These small squishy little Pilates balls have endless benefits and uses. Here, I am using it for feedback with pushups. Starting on knees and moving up to toes and finishing with a little oblique rotational work. Or....you can just lie on your back and pop it under your low back /tailbone for a beautiful release...whichever you prefer

My face shows how much the burn is a love hate relationship...reason 1 billion why Pilates rocks particularly in pregnancy is how adaptable everything is, and how every exercise is an ab exercise. Multi tasking at its best. As I start to directly work my abdominals less, they are still getting a great workout here through stabilising and supporting my body.

11.01.2022 Breath. The first thing and the last thing we do on this Earth. Effortless in its nature, but so often under-utilised. ... Did you know that simply bringing awareness to your breath and how you use it is an easy and accessible way to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system (which decreases heart rate, blood pressure, and skeletal muscle tone, preparing the body for rest, sleep, or digestion). The technique of 2-to-1 breathing facilitates a deepening of relaxation by extending the period of parasympathetic activity. Inhalation emphasizes sympathetic activity (the stress/exercise branch), and exhalation stimulates the parasympathetic activity (the relaxation, rest, and digestion branch). By adjusting the ratio of inhalation to exhalation, we can adjust the relative emphasis given to sympathetic or parasympathetic activity in each breath cycle. There is so much incredible information available on breathing techniques, let me know if there is another that you rely on!

08.01.2022 Hi friends, new and old! For those who don't know me, welcome! I'm Ashleigh, I am extremely passionate about Pilates as a form of movement, which for me is as much about the mind as it is about the body. I have created a peaceful space working out of a home studio in Tamborine Mountain where you can come and 'switch off' for 60 minutes while doing a tailored Reformer class fusing both Classical and Contemporary Pilates. As a mum of two, I know how difficult it can be to find... a way to get exercise in with kids, and I also understand how unappealing a Gym and Creche can be at times. The other thing that I most certainly know (and am also extremely passionate about) is that it can be near impossible to get that other form of self care in, whether it be meditating, practicing mindfulness...or just remembering to breath those good deep breaths that our bodies love so much. My aim when you walk in, is that you get all of those things. This is a place where for 60 minutes, it's all about you. Classes are always tailored for you, and how you are feeling. Looking for dynamic flows to generate energy - got it. Feeling like you need to just slow things down and calm the mind - easy done. 07.01.2022 Some unilateral inspo thanks to @pilateswithzoe working on building the rotational range, and slowly but surely getting some movement into my eternally stiff neck....not to mention all of that nice stretchy space being created. My spine LOVED this. *adds to class program immediately*

04.01.2022 You will rarely find our fridge without a stash of mason jars filled with some kind of overnight oat blend. The best go to breakfast, or anything other meal really! I always make sure a sachet of our complete powder goes in to up the nutritional punch, other than that -anything goes! Chocolate complete + doterra wild orange is up there, also choc complete and peanut butter....as I write this I see a trend that explains why I seem to go through my chocolate complete a lot faster than vanilla Want more info on the complete powder, along with a recipe book full of ideas how to use it?
