19.01.2022 "My visual essay Carnival tells a story about a visually impaired woman. Accompanied by her guide dog, she sits in a caf reading a sci-fiction novel. Suddenly, a payphone begins to ring outside. Led by her trusty friend, the young woman then experiences something that can only be described as magical. Lia Wang, the director, and I were so inspired by the Japanese animation Ghost in the Shell and the paintings from Edward Hopper while we were developing the visual conc...ept for the project. The idea of the project is to combine the texture of celluloid and visual effects techniques together to create the cyberpunk cityscape that the blind woman imagines."
