25.01.2022 We are almost completely fully booked for Mother’s Day this Sunday! If you wish to make a booking please phone for availability. We will be unable to accept walk ins and will have very limited takeaway service due to the number of patrons we have seated inside the train.

24.01.2022 Father’s Day is almost here and we are very heavily booked for both breakfast and lunch. If you’re hoping to bring dad out for a pancake or two please give us a call to see if we can accommodate your group. All bookings will take priority over walk ins so please don’t be disappointed if we are unable to fit you in on the day.

21.01.2022 Since Tasmania is getting us ready for summer , we thought we’d help too with this Mango Raspberry Pancake This delectable special consists of two fluffy pancakes with mango purée in between and topped with mango slices, freshly whipped Tasmanian cream and Valhalla Raspberry Sorbet and a drizzle of berry coulis

19.01.2022 Yesterday we made a batch of our delicious Cadbury chocolate sauce We use fresh Tasmanian cream and Cadbury chocolate buttons to create this beauty, then we pour into containers and put in the fridge to cool so we can scoop it onto chocolate banana pancakes later

07.01.2022 Introducing Jasmine, one of regulars who comes in with her human. Jasmine dines inside the train as she is a service dog. She is super well mannered and sweet and we are all so sad we can’t pat her but she has a duty as do we. Service dogs are always welcome here at the Pancake Train

06.01.2022 A little history about our Train Originally made in England in 1950, the Tasman Limited was operated by the Tasmanian Government Railways on the Main and Western lines between Hobart, Launceston & Wynyard from April 1954 till July 1978. The Tasman departed Hobart at 08:35 and arrived in Launceston at 13:08, and Wynyard at 16:45.... It was considered a great luxury passenger train back in its day and although most trips took 8 hours it was never a true ‘express’ train but it was still named as such. The Tasman Limited was the last regularly scheduled passenger train to operate in Tasmania. Still to this day we have the original train booths in our ‘back carriage’ and we use the original train cafeteria as our kitchen also
