22.01.2022 High fives to investigative reporters, Blair and Juliet from Greenslopes SS who found out why their P&C is the BEST! Greenslopes State School P and C was a Highly Commended entry in the 2020 P&C of the Year awards. They nominated their biggest success as ’building a stronger sense of community than ever before.’ This included showing appreciation for every parent contribution, no matter how small, leaving space for volunteers to step up and focussing on communicating news about their activities and successes. And looking after their After-School care program with great care and heart.

The Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) is inviting state school parents to share their views via a brief video clip (phone videos are fine) answering the following questions. 18.01.2022 Have you applied for the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant (GCBF)? Just a reminder that for this and future applications P&C’s need to apply as a legal entity. Simply email the GCBF team [email protected] to request the change from a sponsored entity to a legal entity, include the P&C’s ABN and current contact details. Once GCBF have validated the P&C, an email will be sent with the new legal organisation number. If you are unsure of your P&C’s ABN visit abr.business.gov.au or email [email protected] with further questions.

15.01.2022 Our CEO, Scott Wiseman and President, Matthew Rowan had a positive meeting with Education Minister, Grace Grace today. Highlighted in the meeting was the loss of a staggering $29M in contributions from our 1250 P&Cs to their state schools due to Covid. Our P&Cs volunteers dedicate over 435,000 voluntary hours per annum. Thank you to all those extraordinary P&C volunteers & staff for your continuing efforts! Grace Grace MP

Unfortunately we had to cancel our plans this year and will miss connecting face to face with our amazing P&Cs and stakeholders at Conference. Mark it in your calendar for next year though!
