18.01.2022 eSafety is aware of distressing reports about a suicide video circulating on social media. We’ve contacted the social media platforms and are working together t...o monitor the situation. Please follow our advice below. * If you see this video online report it to the social media platform it’s on, or to eSafety at www.esafety.gov.au/report/illegal-harmful-content. * We encourage parents, carers and educators to avoid raising the issue of the video directly with young people who may not have heard or been exposed to it. Instead, we encourage proactive conversations with children about distressing content they may come across online, letting them know they can come to you or another trusted adult if they feel upset or uncomfortable by it. * Monitor young people who are more vulnerable and at-risk. If a young person is presenting with signs of distress, schools should follow their own procedures for managing and supporting students at risk. * If a life is in danger call Triple Zero (000) right now. * Anyone who may be at risk or experiencing emotional distress, including worried family and friends, to contact one of the following services: Kids Helpline Official 1800 55 1800. https://kidshelpline.com.au/ Suicide Call Back Service 1300 659 467. https://www.suicidecallbackservice.org.au/ headspace 1800 650 890. https://headspace.org.au/ Lifeline 13 11 14. https://www.lifeline.org.au/ Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636. https://www.beyondblue.org.au/

15.01.2022 Only YES means YES! Sexual consent is not automatic just because your teen is in a relationship including new relationships formed during end of year celebrations. Make sure your teen has all the facts when it comes to consent.

15.01.2022 It's a leader's responsibility to create an environment in which their team feels psychologically safe. In other words, when someone is struggling or makes a mistake - they're willing to speak up because they know someone will be there to support them.

02.01.2022 Cyberbullies try to take away our power. It’s time we take the power back. If you’re experiencing cyberbullying, swipe it away and talk with someone you tr...ust. It may be difficult at first, but opening up is a great first step to coming up with a plan to navigate cyberbullying together with a parent or another trusted adult. You don’t have to deal with it on your own. Visit qld.gov.au/stopcyberbullying for advice and to connect to support services. #SwipeItAway #StopCyberbullying
